in different states, and times, the insanity plea is treated differently. i believe that in some cases, such as the Colorado Movie Theater Massacre(not sure if thats what its called, but the batman movie theater shooting),in which the killer is pleading the insanity plea, that many get away with it, even though they know exactly what they r doing. this article gives some interesting facts about the insanity plea. http://voices.yahoo.com/ Side: Yes,it does/True

you know right that was a conspiracy... james holmes was set up, he knew way too much for his age, go research what he was studying and what he was about to accomplish plus the guy in that court doesnt even look like holmes, and if he was insane he would have said he was not guilty and that he didnt do it, but he has basically said nothing at all Side: No, it is justifiable/False

could u give me a link or source so i can read about it? i believe i did here that he was set up, but the media hasnt mentioned too much about that case in a while,(or maybe its just the station i watch). or if u dont feel like it, i'll just look myself. just let me know. thank u for letting me know. but i still think that others who plead insanity r completely guilty, but not all. some really were mentally ill or insane. It doesn't necessarily entail that they are 'set free'. In the majority of cases the accused has some form mental incapacity or sociopathic tendencies; so they are sent to an asylum which is pretty much a prison in itself however, I can see why people think that they are getting off lightly on an insanity plea. Side: No, it is justifiable/False
Not really. It's not easy to be proven as insane to a prosecution. Fat chances that it would be allowed. Maniacs? That's the POINT. They're maniacs. It is more often that people are injustly imprisoned (totally innocent) or too mentally ill to be held responsible go to jail. You are kidding yourself... it's easier to lose than it is to win when you are a suspect. Side: No, it is justifiable/False
