Political and historical ignorance

People today seem to be completely engulfed by ignorance when it comes to how politics has shaped our modern world.

1. People constantly say that Democrats created the KKK, while completely forgetting to ask why that is. Fascist don't care what you call your political party. They only care if your political positions aid in there plans. In the 1800s the Democrats were the consecutive party. Conservatism is the right wing position and fascism is the extreme right. Which party is the more conservative today? Why it's the Republican party. The KKK switched elegances because the parties switched ideologies. Lincoln was a progressive. Ronald Reagan was a conservative. A lot can changed in over 150 years.

2. I hear that Stalin was an atheist and that is why he committed so many atrocities. Stalin was an authoritarian nationalist who turned Russia into a country that worshipped the state. You know, our dear leader and all that bullshit. His religious beliefs didn't play much of a role in his political agenda.

3. People constantly say that Hitler was an atheist and a socialist. If you look at history you will find out that this is completely untrue.

First off, his party was called The National Socialist German Workers' Party. Is Hitler known for his ability to create jobs or how great he was for German healthcare? Maybe if you consider the amount of soldiers he employed to run the concentration camps and to fight his war for world domination.

Second off, Hitler was undoubtedly a Christian along with 80% of the Nazi party. Just like Stalin, his religious affiliation had little to nothing to do with his political agenda.

What we learn from history is that Nationalism, Fascism,Communism, and Racism are all enemies to the social health of all mankind. There are no bad people just bad ideas. If you put people in boxes in your mind and call them all the enemy then you feed the beast that is ignorance. We can't punish an idea but we can better educate people and encourage critical thinking.

Yes, I think the problem is the facts show quite clearly that the Republican Party has made the hazardous leap into full blown fascism since the turn of the millennium. Perhaps earlier, in fact. Fascists are not really known for their literal interpretations of history or their honesty during debates.

It doesn't matter what political party, religion, or social group you are affiliated with. We are all people. Being an atheist or a Christian doesn't make you a fascist. Rejecting people or treating them poorly for having a different mind set does.

Yes. Liberals think blacks and women fought each other in World War II, thus white WWII movies are racist and sexist. Muhammed also was not a child molester despite saying that... he was a child molester.

The philosophy of progressivism is not simply to achieve progress. Lincoln cannot be linked to the modern progressive, whose philosophy post-dates Lincoln.

Lincoln cannot be linked to the modern progressive

False. He has been.

whose philosophy post-dates Lincoln

Bullshit. All trees start from a seed.

In other news from Amarel: American law makes war 3,000 miles away legal, UN personnel told to favour domestic law over international law, and failing to break Geneva Conventions proves they have no jurisdiction. Yay!

I should have said Lincoln cannot honestly be linked to progressivism.

Bullshit. All trees start from a seed

I don't suppose that progressives pulled their bullshit out of thin air. But if you want to start with some "seed", one might as well claim John Adams as the first Progressive since he also sought to suppress freedom of speech.

As for the rest of your tripe, the UN still has no actual jurisdiction over sovereign nations; that's why their laws are only imposed on weak nations and those that lose wars. They physically cannot be imposed elsewhere. I might as well write some laws and pretend people broke them; since I can't enforce my laws, that puts me in the same boat with the UN.

If calling torture by another name means that it's not torture, then I guess your last criticism is correct.
