Private schools in state tournaments
What are the pros and cons of having private schools compete against public schools in state tournaments?

Private schools should have their own state tournaments due to the fact that they are allowed to recrute students, thus creating the best team possible. Other public schools do not have this priviledge, and have to work with what they have. Because of this, private schools may have a greater advantage over public schools. 3

The use of recruting is a huge benefit for private schools. It takes some of the best players across the country, and brings them to one team to role over everyone else. This makes it extremely unfair to all public schools. Especially to smaller towns, because they do not have as many players to choose from unlike the private schools. 1

I think all shools should be able to compete ok it might be unfair that Private Schools may be able to get a better team together and be able to batter Public Schools but that's life, school is meant to prepare students for life and learning that it can be unfair is a good life lesson. Also a lot can be learnt from losing, if the Private School has better players or play better as a team the coach and players from the Public School can learn from the other team. Also just because a Private School has a better team on paper does'nt meen they play better as a team, if that school has gone round recruiting the best players in the country all they have is a bunch of people who are good at a sport this does'nt make a good team. I played Rugby at School and we were playing a Private School looking at their players compared to ours they should have beaten us because their team was made up from a lot of good individual players but we battered them simply because we played better as a team and our players were tougher than theirs. 1
