1.) Free-market anarchism

2.) Government is an unnecessary evil, and a free market system is obviously the most superior economic system.

3.) Like ChuckHades, I see no reason to.

Plus, anarcho capitalism is not even a political ideology, it is a way if life, no force of any kind except extreme cases.

Not even Wikipedia seems to agree. Further elaboration would be necessary. If anarcho-capitalism as a way of life entails treating all persons as property to be bought, sold and rented I doubt anyone would be able to fulfill it's tenets.

I doubt people are able to create a social order as cruel as anarcho-capitalism despite alleged efficiency. What becomes of most market societies: a liberal comes to town, bans the obviously cruel aspects of capitalism, declares that capitalism has become humane when it has become more crony and institutionalized.

The efficient market hypothesis justifies any use of economic power whatsoever, undermining any notion of justice in the very construct of such a private state, therefore making it a commodity.

OK, so how will Anarchism instill some sort of order in society? Anarchism would just lead to a bunch of biker gangs controlling everything, unless humanity was perfect. Could you explain your thinking?

Who on Earth down-voted my question. This is preposterous. Additionally, I just stated FACTS.

Contrarian/ Green, but if we're talking about USA then Liberal.

Green because its much more peaceful and it is completely different to the others! Liberal ( of which I do not know very much about ) because I don't mind gays, I don't mind alcohol, smoking and I don't see why marijuana should be illegal. Equality is the best.. None of this " Rich can look after each other, everyone else, fend for yourselves" crap. I believe it is the governments job to protect and serve its people and make sure no one is left out. Otherwise what's the point in a government? I am not completely against abortion, and I am completely against the death penalty!

I am glad that you are against the main-stream political parties which have promised so much and delivered so little. I think all the smaller parties should form a coalition to get elected and bring about some real change.

1 point

Precisely. You see a new President voted in each time always saying " I promise to do this" and " I promise to do that" but to no avail. How people can fall for it time and time again baffles me! But you're right it is time for some real change.

Not to mention I'm all for stem cell research. Euthanasia is something I have been supporting for a long time, and something that might bug people, I don't see global warming as a "myth". Not to mention gun law regulation. I'm not all against immigration, and I believe the state and church should be separated. I am not insane about terrorism ( I realise it is a threat, but not exactly a priority! ) Hmmmm, more liberal than I thought :)

Hmmmm, more liberal than I thought

Watch out man, the neo-cons in libertarian clothing here might lynch you for that ;)

1.) Misopoliticism

2.) Because all political philosophies are horribly flawed in such a way that it is best for one to ally with none until a better solution is philosophised.

3.) I don't expect to, people cling onto tags more than they value their own beliefs.

1.) State your political views. I lean to the right.

2.) Why are these your political views? My right leg is shorter than my left leg.

3.) Convince others to follow this view. People that lean right are right.

;)

1. Libertarian Capitalist

2. The free market is the best economic system

3. So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear. That there is no alternative way, so far discovered, of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by a free enterprise system. - Milton Friedman

1 point

Agreed, but although I do admire Milton Friedman, he was part of the Chicago School of Economics, so he was really only against single and triangular government intervention; therefore, he wasn't a true advocate of free market capitalism.

It is true he is not a true advocate of the free market, but I must admit, he is pretty damn close.

1. Oxymoron, I prefer the term apple pie libertarian.

2. Unproven claim. The free market has little to do with peoples freedom to choose in absence of authority: actual freedom, not freedom to sell yourself. I prefer the term unfettered power market.

3. What a fanatically unquestioning attitude toward economic power. The definition of ordinary people used by Friedman means everyone except the poor, as seen in Chile.

Efficiency depends on the circumstances: Feudalism was best in the early middle ages and anarchism in prehistory. China's authoritarianism seems to do very well nowadays.

Efficiency consideration doesn't produce a society that is in any way better than any other efficient society like Nazi Germany. It is even naive to assume that your proposed society will be the most efficient.

1.) Democratic Socialism

2.) Because working together is better than conflict, and capitalism has a poor track record.

3.) When society works together, it can accomplish more. Everyone deserves equal opportunity, fair pay, and freedom, both personal and economic.

Who voted this down? I have a right to my political views, and I did not make a fatuous argument. Please up-vote for the sake of democracy. ;)

I am upvoting, because i agree that you have the right to your opinion, not because I agree with the philosophy, because i don't. :)

I am yet to see why the apple pie libertarians would see a problem with your argument. As they are educated they know the conflict between democracy and free markets, advocating for the latter for reasons of justice and/or efficiency.

1.) Political Moderatism

2.) I will never take on an astute, unchangeable opinion regarding politics, as politics influence the lives of innocent people, and therefore I will never hold onto a belief that otherwise makes innocent people suffer. If a present opinion of mine were to turn out to be something that causes suffering in practice, I would pass it up and think of something new, unless there was no other choice which was better than it.

3.) I don't need to try and convince other people of anything. Humanity will either eventually follow this idea or we will eventually go extinct. I have empathy, but I am also realistic, and realistically, I cannot change most people's opinions. It will have to come naturally to others as it came naturally to me. And I suspect it will, since we collectively are concerned with advancing the species as a whole, even if we are selfish.

1 point

1.) Anti-authoritarian. All authority should be questioned. I believe in a transparent system of direct power if in some cases institutional power is necessary.

2.) Contemporary ideas like libertarianism and liberalism try to hide power behind overly metaphysical and strangely specific notions of freedom: negative and positive liberty.

3.) Liberty is defined against the notion of power. If no object is affecting A, it is free. What else is A if not free? A slave to his sinful ways of masturbating? I don't believe in god or any metaphysics that distorts this.

There is no "free" transaction in the free market, everything is associated with financial power. The free market is merely a market of power. In it we depend on other peoples arbitrary will. If there is necessary need for institutional power it should be direct and transparent, not convoluted, hidden, ideological and constitutional.
