I don't think we talk enough about Muslim transgenders. Imagine an eight year old girl refugee running from the Taliban. Questioning her gender, and in need of puberty blockers.

What's the odds this person will live a high quality of life? Muslims often shun Muslim transgenders.

I think too much focus is often on white male Christians reinforcing the status quo. For example, on T.V. shows if a character is gay he is almost certainly white and male. Reinforcing the white male Christian centered world.

The Vicar of Dibley for example had one gay character. What do you know he was white, male, and Christian.

That we forget that Muslims as well as followers of other religions including Hinduism and Buddhism exist. This serves to homogenize and condense ultimately helping to stereotype and promote caricatures. Just at white Christians struggle as new information becomes available on transgenderism so do Muslims.
