Do atheist believe in anything? If not why? If yes please elaborate.

Everyone believes in something. What topics do you want to know about? Just spiritual?

I think that everything that is associated with God by theists is just a part of nature and since we already have that terminology, there is no reason to describe anything with "God".

You can't discern what atheists believe just from the fact that they're an atheist. The only thing that label tells you is they don't believe in gods. Anything that's not a god they can believe in. Some believe in ghosts, some believe in spiritualism of whatever kind. They can believe in anything that's not a god because that contradicts the label atheist.

http://www.createdebate.com/debate/show/ Has BiblicalProphesyBeenAccurate

For the prophesy below to have come true, God would have had to have fulfilled

2 OTHER Bible Prophesies,

1 -to scatter them to all the Nations, and 2 - then bring the Jews back from all the Nations He had scattered them, which are also other detailed prophesied! And bringing them back was fullfilled after ww2. .. ... Thousands of years after these prophesies!

Coincidence? Or is this inaccurate?

Was Terrorism a Biblical Prophesy?

Was the Middle East Crisis a Biblical Prophesy?

How many points can we accumulate for -

Bible Truth or Bible Lie?

It almost seems if it weren't for Israel life wouldn't be quite as disturbed. How is it that 4000 years of these people who really didn't bring much on themselves historically, are the matter that brings TREMBLING (OR TERROR!!!) To the door of EVERY Nation? Has Israel been a burden to lift? When lifting Israel

have those Nations face Trembling, and being cut into pieces?

How did the Bible know Nations would lift Israel? What Nations back then lifted other Nations?

Accurate prophesy?

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of TREMBLING unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it… For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of

the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle

(Zech 12:2-3, Zech 14:2-3 KJV).”

Why wouldn't they? Atheism simply means they don't believe in theism, so what would lead you to believe they don't believe in anything at all?

1 point

I believe some things, I don't believe ANYTHING :)

I have a question for other Atheists.

Since many of the theists on this website greatly misrepresent what it means to be atheists, are you happy or sad that there aren't a lot of theists asking questions on here for atheists to answer?

If the bodily Resurrection of the Christ was not real, or just a hoax perpetrated by his followers, why would so many of the early Christian martyrs have willingly undergone gruesome and torturous deaths? When all they had to do to spare themselves was to recant?

And how can you explain medical surveys showing the efficacy of the power of prayer for healing?

Why do believers live longer and happier lives?

How can you disprove the fact that God works miricals in my life every day?

Why is the Bible the most read book in the world?

How can you explain the creation facts that Genesis got correct? Some 4000 years ago? When cosmologocal science was unknown?

I will be waiting. I will also formally debate you on any of those questions.

God bless.

Jesus saves.

I'm not responding as an atheist, merely to respond...

The argument the early followers were willing to be put to death so it must be true is fallacious when you consider

a) contemporary Muslims are regularly martyring themselves for Islam and that does not automatically make Islam right. and

b) those Christian martyrs happened over a very long span of years after Christ's death, as well as the scriptures that they wrote, and we only remember the set strategically tied together as a story set to promote the fledgling church. We don't really know how many others recanted or jumped ship because to reveal that would thwart the effort to hype their church. This is one of the most carefully orchestrated sets of documents, designed to justify that which had been outlawed.

The medical surveys, living longer, working miracles, all would depend on whatever link you want to share for us to read so we could discuss if there really is evidence of those things. Without some sort of evidence to examine this is little more than TV story telling.

The Bible being the most read book is a misleading claim when you consider

a) it was the first book ever put to press so it had a head start on everything else,

b) Christians for centuries have distributed it to hotels and passed them out for free. Just because a book is in every hotel room doesn't mean the people in those rooms take it out of the drawer every night and read it.

c) Christians do not account for even half the world population so clearly more than half the world isn't enthralled by it

Regarding Genesis, I have no idea what perfect factual knowledge that provided which has been confirmed. Please elaborate. Meanwhile I can indeed tell you that the concept that every living person of the billions on this planet sprung from just two people less than 5000 years ago is laughable. And somehow, despite the alleged great flood, they managed to spread to every remote island and corner of the globe, develop dramatically different cultures, and in fact leave behind archeological and anthropological evidence going back much further in time than the Biblical timeline. And by the way, if indeed we all came from Adam and Eve, elaborate for me the story of the incest those children and their children's children had to be committing for at least a century or so until there were enough humans to have a diverse gene pool.

SlapShot you are confusing me. So many other arguments you have taken an atheist standpoint. Have you converted to Christianity?

What evidence would be needed for an atheist to change his belief that God doesn't exist?
