Racism still alive or a lie?
Ive been seeing some really awful videos about racist cops, civilians, politicians, teachers, etc.. and i was just wondering if everyone thinks this is an issue, i want a peaceful debate i figure its the best way to get to an answer, and just get different points of view.
hey, thanks, i believe it is as well. Just yesterday i saw a video of a man being hit and called a "spick" for speaking to his mother in Spanish, honestly, heartbreaking.
I really dont understand the pettiness, neither party is perfect, but oh well this is what its come to i guess; are there racist democrats? yes. Are there racist republicans? yes, now the true question is, are ALL democrats or republicans racists? No. Please don't bring politics into it I am honestly so over it. It seems like every single debate on here is Republicans vs. Democrats im literally just asking if you think Racism is still a problem. No party is better or worse than the other, can we please leave it at that? =)
Welcome again to create debate, lol. You will very quickly find out who likes to debate and who simply likes to preach or spew nonsense for nonsense sake.
Don't let them get you down, he can't answer without bringing a party into it because that's all he does.
You are correct, neither party....any party....is perfect. Some have their good sides, all have their bad sides. And remember Aristotle:
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”
:D ~side note, it took me longer than I would like to admit to find that exact quote, I had it in my mind but couldn't remember the exact words.
While I typically don't agree with the idea of a "safe space", if one requires a "safe space" one must first feel threatened. I don't feel threatened by you or anything you say.
I don't think this country has ever been able to fully heal from its past or be fully purged from those who hold extremist views. I doubt we will ever be able to truly say everyone accepts everyone without some suspicion or hostility as we are all different and some people still believe that differences are something to fear or hate.
What you should take in to consideration however, is that sensationalism sells in the media. Whenever there is a hate crime or some form of racism, the news sources are almost always going to cover it and make whatever spin on it they believe will sell more. If you find yourself getting depressed, look past the main story to the supporting characters in it. Look at the helpers, the people who are outraged over it and those who flock to help out through either emotional or financial support, those who rally around the victims to lift them back up. As long as we still see those people we have hope.
Hello, thanks so much, at this point i thought nobody would answer lol. anyway i think you're absolutely right, things are getting worse and the media is not doing anything to make the situation better but instead try to make a quick buck therefore unleashing a wave of hatred and racism on the people, not just whites, I live in a place where latinos are the majority and trust me when i say this hatred and racism is very much alive.
I live in a place where latinos are the majority and trust me when i say this hatred and racism is very much alive
I believe you. The hate that is kicked up is very much a living and breathing entity and it's too easy to go down that path yourself. It's a fight to not look at a certain ethnicity and just brand them all a certain way because that's all you hear about them in the news. The hardest part is realizing they are not the majority, they simply speak the loudest.
things are getting worse
I don't think they are. I think they are getting better, we just hear more about the bad. More and more people are fighting for the rights of those who have previously been seen as second class citizens and though there is push back it's not nearly as strong.
Progressive very nice spin you wrote it was heartfelt but BS you see the modern day Progressives own racism it is the foundation of the party ! You Leftist will never learn history you do all you can do to avoid the reality of history !
Aww, thank you. That was nice. All the rest of what you wrote was the same dribble you always preach but eh, I can't expect much else from a chatbot. Or are you a broken record? I can't decide but please don't feel the need to answer.
Are you to accept the fact that Democrats own racism ? No because you can't ! You ever heard of Robert Byrd ? How about what Bill Clinton said about your boy Barack ?
A party doesn't "own" racism. The people who are in a particular party can be racist, that includes Republicans, Liberals, Tea-Party and all others, yes even those who are Democrats. So what? We already agree that Racism is alive.
I genuinely don't care about what Clinton said about Obama nearly a decade ago. You seem to though, maybe you should move on from that?
And yet they still won the majority black vote after all that. That says a lot about how poorly the Republican party handled things. Regardless, a lot of the black voters are returning to the Republican party now. It's always changing so it shouldn't be a surprise to you.
You ever heard of George Wallace he was a good Democrat from Alabama but i don't think he was a racist LMMFAO ! Look moderate or whatever you call yourself you just can't defend the indefensible of who the Democrats are. You can try but it isn't going to work !
Ever heard of Robert (KKK) Byrd ? He was a Democrat and guess what he was white imagine that? And praised by none other than Bill Clinton a white Democrat ! LMAO ! History is just not on your side fight it deflect it it's all a failure in any discussion when it comes to racism !
We can't have a discussion when you fail to contribute to one. By all means, continue ranting, I'll wait until you actually answer the question without deflecting it.
In one form or another, and to a greater or lesser extent racism has existed since the dawn of time and will be a feature of all the world's societies for the foreseeable future.
People feel more comfortable and secure when with those whom they perceive as own kind and will, generally speaking, either consciously or subconsciously favour those with whom they identify.
Racism is still alive, but not healthy. To clarify, there are two forms of racism in America, apart from individual racism: historic racism and structural racism. The difference is that historic racism still exists widely, but structural racism is extremely rare if existent at all.
Why not? White refugees across the world are put into camps with little to no food or water, where disease is rampant. Why? Liberal countries aren't allowed to take "white refugees".
