I find it mostly funny and harmless, but I would definitely not tell it to my black friends O.O It's not saying anything very offensive about black people, it's just saying they have darker skin. Last time I checked, that's true. It's not racist if it's true, after all. Still, I'm not sure, but it said for me to make a strong argument so...XD

I say its funny. Why not laugh at something like that, I mean... To me i'd have to say that racism and violence go together so as long as no violence is involved i'd be fine.

Honestly, I believe this is funny. I would tell this to my black friend. It is a joke about skin colour. I tell blondes blonde jokes. Its the same thing. This has nothing to with their past and is not aimed to cause harm. It doesn't joke about their hardships, doesn't disgrace and shouldn't offend. And if black people can joke about the stereotypical black person, as many youtubers are seen doing, why can't white people?

It also depends on how different people react though. For instance if I told this to my black friend, and they yelled aggresively at me for it, I would not continue to make remarks like this. Although, if they started laughing or started also making black skinned jokes, I would be understanding.

And finally, it also depends on the intent of the joke.

This is so hilarious. I mean I roast up people a lot and never ever have I heard a roast so stupid. It is so dumb it makes me laugh.

I say funny because I laughed and I thought it was funny. Racism is meant to be rude, if rudeness wasn't your intention then go ahead. I liked it.

I think it's funny. It's just acknowledging the differences between races, that's all.

Its a fact that your skin is black. Its not a prejudiced view, therefore its a joke not racism

FUNNY COS I HAVE A STORY TOO.

Once upon a time in Nigeria i(black) had a white friend. Through me, he became friends with my other black friends.We were all between the ages of 8~11. My white friend had some quite long ears, somehow big nose and he was fat. We used to play hide and seek Around house. In my house we had a pigsty For rearing pigs. We sold them and they were our source of income.

Whenever we played hide and seek, this white fellow always went to hide among the pigs naked. So it was hard to find him but we always used spot his hair. But he got a bacteria infection on his head called ringworm. So he had to shave all of his hair. So we played hide and seek again and he went to his usual place; the pigsty. Unfortunately our customers came; packed him on their truck among the pigs. They sent all the pigs including him to their factory and mashed him up into a sausage. And the reason they didn't notice him was because he shared the same colour with the pigs. Since then, my friends and me wanted to find him so we tried hiding among the pigs whenever the sausage factory men came, but they always identified us and seperated us from the pigs.

Is it funny?, or i'm being or racist or both?

One of the most obnoxious facets of modern culture is, in my opinion, the abuse of the term "racist". "Racism" is a belief, stating that one race is superior to another solely because of their skin color. I find that many label all racial stereotyping (which does not itself express any superiority or inferiority) with the term regardless of its meaning. The joke presented by the OP is one such example: humor based on a physical trait of a particular race is not itself claiming that race to be superior or inferior to any other. As such, by definition, it is not "racist".

Funny enough, in this instance, it's arguably not even stereotyping; the joke isn't about all people of African descent having skin "dark enough to not be able to see at night", but a particular person within that group. It doesn't even make a statement about an entire race, but a particular person. How could this possibly be construed as "racist"?
