Video games are fun you don't have to paint a picture and well... its more active then reading

pushing buttons or turning pages every min.

your choice

Side: Video Games

Books hold such great value, but there are things that video games can do that books cannot.

- Enhance Hand-eye coordination

- Teach people things in a fun and entertaining way

-video games today hold physical benefits

- Games hold within them written stories of their own (eg. Lost Odyssey)

- They exercise the players Quick thinking Capabilities

- Exercise Logistic skills

- Exercises multitasking

- enhance mathematical and reading skills in a fun and entertaining way

I could go on...

My point is, reading may be very entertaining for some people, but video games hold all the value of books and more... if you know how to choose them of course -_o

I wanted to dispute a number of your points here.

- Teach people things in a fun and entertaining way

This is a problem for me. Have you ever read Andy McNab? I learned a lot about the SAS techniques and special ops sort of stuff and it was far more entertaining than, say, bulletstorm.

-video games today hold physical benefits

That's true, however recent studies have indicated that in order to stay healthy one must also exercise their brain. While it is true that some video games do this, almost none of them do it on the same level as books (no pun intended).

- Games hold within them written stories of their own (eg. Lost Odyssey)

So do movies. Watch Game of Thrones and then read it. Books allow us to see the inner machinations of the character's mind. We can see their reasoning rather than infer it. We can connect with them on a deeper level. I would much rather READ Metro 2033 than play it (And I have. I have read it and it is amazing)

You claim that video games hold all the benefits of books and more, but this is not true.

Video games hold all the benefits of books but not to the same extent. Books do it better than video games. Furthermore, what does 'and more' mean? I can get a book for $6 but these days where I live games are $110 each!

I have to say reading. You can read pretty much anywhere and you don't need to worry about saving your game or losing power.

You can play video games anywhere as well. It just requires you to bring a charger along.

Almost every place has an electrical outlet. As for saving the game, it is basically the same as placing your bookmark on the page you wish to stop at.

Reading, duh. It's why more fulfilling than a video game will ever be.

Fulfilling in what aspect?

As I just stated in my argument for video games, they hold much more value than a book. Books take up more time as well, and provide the player with control of the character. Books is just like watching a movie in slow motions with you just watching from a distance. Unlike books, video games put the player in the story.

Video games teach you plenty. Read my argument stated in the left.

Side: Video Games

Reading is much more rewarding than beating a video game.
