Replicators, the end of capitalism as we know it.
I am going to order one as soon I save some money up, they cost around $3,000, as of now it uses plastics to create pretty much anything plastic but in time there will be atoms to create pretty much anything, food, medications, anything, this will destroy capitalism letting people make what ever they want out of atoms, yup just like in Star Trek.
It's not the end of Capitalism... it IS Capitalism. Free Market Capitalism is unhindered trade among people. This means if I have something that you want and you offer me something for it, we trade and that's it. That's all it is. Just because there is less incentive to trade doesn't mean that Capitalism is over, it just means Capitalism is working (since, of course, more resources exist for the populace.) What government would do is regulate replicators. That's the non-free market approach, and that's what's against Capitalism. I am thinking once we get atom replicators we could create anything out of trash, because all things are atoms, we would break down those atoms to create what ever, if any government or person tries to control that it will lead to a massive world war, capitalism is something we needed to get to this point in human progress but has a negative effect, capitalism can not exist without others suffering. Capitalism is just a social evolutionary step that in time will get weeded out and I am sure it will not go without a fight, in the end our goal is to evolve to the next stage of humanity and capitalism is in the way. Capitalism must go or we will die as a result, no advanced species in the universe can reach interstellar travel and colonization with any capitalistic system in play, only a world wide agreed goal of human equality can, or a resource based economy. We as a species are in what I like to call "human gridlock" what we do in the next few hundreds years will determine if we live, die or get reset back to the stone age, our greed is blinding our judgment, we need to move on for the greater good for all mankind, this is going to be a very hard change. Scientist say the transition from a type 0 civilization to a type 1 is key if a species ever gets to become a space fairing species, but in order for us to do that we have to move away from all monetary economics. 1

Capitalism is defined by free trade and private ownership. Replicators don't have to be state owned and people can still trade services, there is just less incentive. Not to mention that replicators only produce goods, not services, there will still be a need for services such as doctors, police, firemen, entertainers, ect. Services like police, fireman ect. in time can be handled by machines, in the end my hope is a world resource based economy leaving humans to unlock there full potential doing what they truly love, this will created a new boom in human advancement, our problem is humans can't progress the way they want because they don't have the time due to a capitalistic system, we are all slaves because of this, in a nut shell we are wasting our full potential because we have to work to survive in this world. A world were machines do all the labor and things are create out of thin air will leap us to things we can only dream of because we humans would have the time to dream, invent create and work on new theories, money is holding humanity back, a perfect example of this is why we having been to the moon in over 60 years, that reason is cost, its not like we don't have the resources or know how to do it, it all comes down to cost, remove cost and we can achieve anything, the stars the limit. 1

If people start going out and buying these machines, these machines become mainstream to have like computers, T.V.s, Videogames, phones, etc, it could potentially end capitalism, if people don't before the government realizes how beneficial this is to them to regulate it will not end capitalism. Once this is something that typically almost everyone has, it would be impossible, unlikely, and against government moral to take them away from us. I will admit I am not politically/governmentally educated as I wished to be however based on what I do know I feel like no government has been able to last forever, sometimes it seems to me that capitalism biggest flaw is considering it's goal to reward equal to the amount of work one does it requires an incredible amount of circumstantial regulations, as it has a natural chaos to it, and I sometimes feel that the cracks in the system are easily manipulate towards the advantages of others. I do have to acknowledge that people who are concerned about their fair share for their work are legit to have those concerns, but socialism seems much easier to maintain, as it has a simplicity to simply distribute wealth equally regardless of who works more, or who would naturally be better off in a market in capitalism. I feel though that the biggest issue here is what to do with the classes, the truth is even in a capitalist society everyone doesn't get what they earned necessarily, because the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, If I invest a million dollars into something, I will more likely make money quicker than lets say 10,000 dollars, thus the poor are automatically handicapped, then you got people who are born into wealth. I don't follow any government honestly, either is fine for me as long as nobody is enslaved or some crazy shit like that. Though like I said I am willing to admit it, I am politically and governmentally ignorant compared to a lot of other people so my feelings towards governments may be completely unfounded. Regardless this would make the world better for all, and better yet, wouldn't cost anyone else anything, the problem is incorporating it into people's lives like other technologies before our government tries to use it. |
