Right to bear arms , not a right to have ammo

There has been some talk about new gun legislation after the elections. Some citizens were buying as many weapons as they could in the fear of an inability to obtain certain types of weapons in the near future.

Well the legislation has been put in writing and now we get to see ... That NOBODY can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 ... ?!!!!

Ammunition Accountability Legislation Vote Down this bill

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture ; also they are required to keep a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy, how often and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded... Any privately held unrecorded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

Whats next , Perhaps ... rationing which counties get enough coded rounds and just who gets priority ... to appease government security over the possibility of a taxpayer that may die with an empty weapon in hand ; an acceptable risk to protect ...Government before population? Populations ... compliance to a lesser authority? hmn...What happened to '...by the people for the people... ' Makes me wonder about all the excess ammo and thier owners.

If they can deprive you of ammo
...
they do not need to take your gun! Right to bear arms , not a right for them to be loaded..?! ...

There seems to be a loophole in the Second Amendment. I would like to see the Second Amendment removed. It is outdated. This is now 2015 and the gun violence continues to escalate.

There are states that have been actively attempting to disarm the populace for years and this bill represents a major step toward that goal in that within it's guidelines it not only renders illegal any preceding ammunition of the previous 500 years but also places additional financial/ compliance obstacles in the public process where government workers have no such traps.

Power in America is supposed to be 'by and for the people',

What if the people told governments that the governments ammunition would be based on the workers families financial/ compliance ...?

No loaded weapon = no authority

The government is already way too far into our business. As I have said in other debates:

The United States is better off with guns in the right hands.

I have no clue why politicians demand that guns be taken away from the people. To me, it sounds like a desperate grasp for power. What can people do if the government gets out of control, many people have guns but nobody has ammunition, but the government has guns! There is nothing anyone can do, except for the criminals that got the ammunition illegally.

I just all-around hate the idea of the government taking things away from people.
