Haven't seen JakeJ in a while...

So anyway, things I agree with:

Free Markets

Gun rights

Ending the Federal Reserve

Ending the Wars

Ending aid to Israel (and other nations)

Allowing free trade overseas (includes ending the Embargo Act)

Ending the War on Drugs

Support of Constitutional State's Rights (although, I believe that individual rights ALWAYS trumps any governmental rights).

Belief that marriage is a private matter, not a governmental matter

Side: Things I agree with

In addition:

Sound Money

Free Bodies and Minds

Limit Government Spending and Revenue

One thing I have to say, Marriage is in my opinion explicitly tied to religious tradition. I have absolutely no problems with domestic partnerships, my understanding is that in a domestic partnership a couple is treated legally the same as a married couple. They just aren't officially "married".

Miss me? (;

I think it's funny how he mentions the constitution in just about almost every single argument he makes. That's always a good sign. And he knows his history too.

I just don't get why Fox News has almost totally ignored him..

Freedom for people to be racist and discriminate in giving jobs, leaving the UN, abolishing the NMW. Abolishing the separation of Chruch & State, banning abortion, teaching creationism with evolution. Gold standard, cancelling affirmative action, ending progressive taxation. The privatisation of schools, ending all regulation on guns (including semi-auto's & allowing guns into schools), and gay marriage.

Abolishing the separation of Chruch & State

He supports religious limitation ensured by the Constitution. He does not, however, believe in any restrictions beyond constitutional means when it comes to things such as a courthouse putting the Ten Commandments on their wall, or firehouses setting up a nativity scene during Christmas season.

banning abortion

He is personally against abortion after experience as a physician, but the most he believes in is eliminating Roe v. Wade, which he believes to go against the Constitution (because it does).

teaching creationism with evolution.

He is not for forcing schools to teach creationism. He just believes that it should be allowed.

cancelling affirmative action

Affirmative action is not a law.

gay marriage.

he believes that marriage is not a government issue. furthermore, any regulation on marriage should be left to the States. Obama is similar in his views, however he still supports Federal regulations on marriage.

He supports something which I do not see as a secular government.

Both of which I disagree with. I understand the opinions, I just don't like them.

Affirmative action is not a law.

Opposing it is a political position which I disagree with.

In this, I agree. In a number of social issues, I think government should leave people alone, and simply protect peoples freedom - allowing gay marriages, for example.

And, as we've talked a lot about, I'm against Obama on many issues. Gay marriage is one of them.

Ron Paul is the best candidate for champions of Liberty for he is a very strict Constitutionalist. However, this results in him doing things that even Libertarians don't support.

Libertarian scholars have made it quite clear that Ron Paul is far from perfect. It's just that he's much closer to perfection than current anti-liberty candidates (like Obama and Romney).

One of the cases where I disagree with him is on Roe v. Wade, where he has put State's rights over Individual rights. This comes more from me being far more extreme than Paul when it comes to Libertarianism, though. Philosophical Libertarians (myself) are different from Constitutional Libertarians (Ron Paul). CLs believe in strict abiding by the Constitution. Part of it is to limit government power, the other part is belief that the Constitution is our most perfect set of ideals so far.

Another aspect I'd disagree with on Paul is his views on immigration, which used to be more extreme. He's changed a bit, and is even for reasonable reform, so I guess I agree with New Paul vs. Old Paul on immigration.

When it comes to aspects of Separation of Church and State, I agree and disagree. While I believe that States should be as limited in power as Federal government, I see no reasonable action to make sure of these limitations, especially when we become so petty as issues such as religious symbolism in the public sector. I believe that it is the duty of the citizens to keep state governments from putting up any religious symbolism for any action from the Fed would be a bureaucratic mess. If things went my way, government would do nothing but protect its citizens, but realistically Paul is kind of right.

I think he is a radical and Bruno really showed him up in that movie, "Bruno."
