Sarah Palin & The Pipeline That Wouldn't

Rhetoric is Expected, Lies Bloat Palin

Since 1973, when construction of the Alaskan Pipeline was signed into law by R.M.Nixon until it's completion in 1977 at a cost of 800 billion dollars of private funding, the TAPS hasn't brought us much but promises and the largest oil spill in the history of this country. While Palin acts and speaks about the pipeline as though it's waiting for her to get back to throw the main switches, the fact is that there never was nor will there ever be a guarantee it will flow. She knows it and we know it...the rest are "pipe dreams" and campaign lies. It's not the only untruth she has spoken but this is the one that hits hardest because it concerns all Americans. Even if it flows anew it will only give us 3% of our requirements in energy. A storm in a teacup and a lie that should bust her $1,500.00 suit buttons not to mention her monthly $4,500.00 beauty bill!

Please don't take this personaly (I'll explain what really got my panties in a bunch later) but,

You say that there's no "guarantee it will flow again." This implies that there is some hope that it will flow again. Sarah has made it clear that she's hanging her hat on this shred of hope and you call her a liar. You claim to know more about that situation in Alaska than the local politician there. But where are your sources?

And what does "her monthly $4,500.00 beauty bill" have to do with the price of tea in China?

What really bothers me is my perceived trend (real or imagined) towards emotional arguments mixed in with personal attacks (that have nothing to do with the issue at hand) and the lack of supporting evidence. But I'll deal with my issues later, either in another debate or in therapy. ;)

I would like to know if this debate is just meant to smear Palin or if you have a valid reason to be opposed to the pipeline. Is it a guarantee that you're after and if so, why? Are you saying that we shouldn't try to take advantage of every opportunity that would reduce our dependence on foreign oil and if so, why? Are you saying that the average joe thinks the pipeline will solve our energy crisis and if so, where's this data?

Lets help eachother get points towards those free books ;)

I'm not interested in winning books....I can buy whatever I need. I do not set up debates for books! Smear? I don't need to smear her, she does a fine job of that all by herself! I've been following and waiting for that pipeline for 30 years my friend and what she says is pure and utter B.S. I included the remarks about what is being spent just for effect. There was an article in my newspaper yesterday that gave all the figures and said the RNP is paying for all this...then they're going to give her crap away. Why? Why not auction it off and put the bucks back in their coffers. It's probably our money anyway. Does any woman alive, in politics or not, need to spend over $4500,00 on her hair and make-up in a month? Oh, Lord save me. They can't auction that off! If you like I'll create another debate just on that crap with supporting evidence!

The attack on Palin is the debate! The pipeline, the pipeline the pipeline. You want more? Go read your local or whatever newspaper that came out this morning and see what she said to a 5th grader, on a radio interview call-in show, about what the VP duties are. I'm sorry Joe, she's a fool. This female is an embarrassment and a liar. The pipeline is one of her campaign strategies and I know better than to believe her. Read the article I posted and take it from there. The best is that you're not even going to vote! What in God's name do you care anything about Sarah Palin unless it's getting into her $100.00 panties?

Side: It Won't

Haha, I'm from Delaware and today one of the articles was titled Joe Biden buys his own wardrobe, and it made me laugh.

I know it's a small detail, but the fact that the Republicans are spending that much money on clothing shows what they think of the American public: that looks are more important to them then substance. Unfortunately they may be right for a lot of Americans.

Side: It Won't

Well, if the debate is to attack Palin, I have nothing more to say. I thought the debate was about the pipeline.

Another reason I don't vote is because I don't like getting all passionate about something I have little control over. That leads to frustration.

I don't care about Sarah's $100 panties! Wait.... are they thong panties or regular granny panties?

Joe- I thought you were the king of emotional arguments mixed in with personal attacks. That's why I couldn't deal with you. You really were. Really.

And the price of tea in China is that if Obama had a bill like that - you would have created some weird smear saying that he spent 4K on make up made by terrorists or something.

I'm glad that you at least recognize that it is a bad thing even though I don't think Kukla is there. I even left you a nice note on the matter!

So I've changed for the better? ;)

Side: It Will

Some article today had it that Biden buys his own clothes.....lol

Side: It Won't

Sarah Palin's nose should be growing to Pinocchio proportions on this one. I doubt the Alaska Gas Pipeline will flow in her lifetime and its possible completion date is still 10 years away. No one, not even she, has been able to garner all the permissions necessary from both Canada and the Natives since it runs through their Country. Great rhetoric but the facts tell a much different story.

Supporting Evidence: Palin Deals Herself a Doozie (news.yahoo.com)
Side: It Won't

It's not surprising that Palin has lied again. Let's go over a list of some of her previous untruths.

- For the bridge to nowhere she claims to have said "thanks but no thanks" to congress when it was a lot more like "thanks [months pass and bridge to nowhere becomes symbol of wasteful earmark spending] no thanks, but we'll keep the money." In addition she has asked congress for $453 million in federal earmarks.

- She says she stood up to lobbyists, when she was the first Wasilla mayor to hire a lobbyist (but hey maybe she made him get her coffee, or something degrading like that)

- She claimed to have fired her gubernatorial chef in order to save money. Actually the chef was reassigned as a constituent relations assistant, and later held two other positions all of which allowed her to continue cooking for the governor and her family (what luck!)

So if you want to know the truth about the pipeline I say listen to what Palin says...I can guarantee the exact opposite will be true.
