I'm here to admit I called this one wrong. The core of my message remains the same though. As an independent and a moderate I have been dismayed by our two party system in the USA for decades. Yes, through the choke hold of Democrat and Republican Parties the choices we get each time are virtually rigged. And also with conservative and liberal ideologies superimposed on top of that whether right or wrong we end up with little more than left vs right... So where is the middle, folks? Where is compromise or balance? Where is listening to each other? And how can anyone get truth anymore when it's either slanted mainstream news or the wild propaganda of facebook and internet memes? Regardless, the USA has chosen what more than half of you thought was the lesser of the two evils. But in doing so you actually chose the riskier one. The one who may break not just the political choke hold but the actual nation. Big gamble. Not one I was willing to take myself. Most of the world is horrified, stocks are falling, in a sense it's like a USA Brexit. And now you have (potentially) a racist, sexist, egomaniac for President. Anyway, those of us desperately against his election now need to honor our democratic process and give him a chance to see what he'll do. And those of you desperately for him now need to hold him to the scrutiny you did Obama and Clinton. And with Republican control of all of Washington whatever comes out of this will rest on you Trump supporters. It's going to be a wild ride. But through it all, if we actually think and listen to each other and try to find any middle ground we can turn any President's time into a win for the whole country. It's just a matter of how it happens. Has it happened before? I'm not historically savvy enough to tell you but I think it may have somewhere. We need to come together as a society and decide to be an active society. A passive society is a submissive society and right now we're pretty passive when it comes to action. I mean a lot more than words. We need to take action ourselves. We can't rely on leaders to do it for us. The only question is how. Although Trump is a lot better than having Killary. i was devastated by the news .not enough that i wish i had voted for hillary instead of gary, but still devastated .how did god let this happen ? i know hillary was a terrible candidate, but that is no reason to vote for the worst person you can imagine .i can only hope that trump doesnt do most of the stupid things that i think he will, such as giving putin the nuclear codes . let democrats and republicans both learn from this .people are sick of 16 years of tyranny .they want something different and will do anything to get it .if you want to save america, but aside your silly agenda and elect the damn libertarian next time ! If Trump applies his business acumen to running the country and heeds the advice of his advisers as how best to implement his other proposed policies he could be exactly what the United States needs to turn it's fortunes around. No more ''easy touch'' America. No more using the U.S, as a dumping ground for cheap and nasty Asian goods. No more meeting 75% of the cost for the defense of Europe. No more exorbitant corporation tax which was driving American companies to relocate their operations overseas. No more uncontrolled immigration. These were/are the issues which ordinary Americans wanted resolved and which the weak kneed Democrats didn't even address. No more uncontrolled immigration. You need to know that in eight years Obama has deported more illegal immigrants than any other POTUS in history. Look it up. Also, the numbers of Illegals has been dwindling for four years, and the numbers of deportations rising. To the point that more people were deported than entered illegally over the past eight years. Again..you are cordially invited to research this yourself. Also...we have never been an easy touch. We are still the strongest and greatest nation on the fucking planet. And have been for over a century. Don't mistake being the world's watchdog for being easy. Last, just because we are a nation of rabid consumers and global traders, is not the same as being a dumping ground. If we did not want those Chinese goods we would not have them. It is not as if the chinks are dumping their unwanted goods here against our wishes. It's just a Free Market economy. Just listening to day time news over here (republic of Ireland ) the amount of Irish Americans that voted for Trump is amazing , the alternative the horrible cow Hillary would have driven America into the gutter . It's incredible how the media over here totally supported Hillary and barely gave Trump a look in , and indeed in America I'm told they were very one sided and it seems they were so worldwide ; so it's all the more remarkable that Trump won ... The SCOTUS is saved from its march toward liberalist socialism. The constitution will be followed for the next 30 or 40 years. Obamacare is out, with it's crushing cost in jobs for the economy. Business will thrive without undue regulation. School choice will change the cycle of poverty and dependence in our rotting urban cities. Infrastructure projects will re-ignite the American economy. I think Trump has it sealed up for eight years, and Pence after that for four or eight more.........if the country doesn't fall apart or get wiped out by some huge natural disaster or surprise attack from an enemy. Thanks for voting against WW3. Hillary is NOT in the White House, which for me is the most important result. I hope by next time, you will have done something to avoid having to make such choices. Hopefully now we will have a chance to do something about Putin. With HRC in office, there would be almost no chance, because each of her hawkish moves would be used as a propaganda tool by Putin and would only strengthen his regime.
