Should Barack Obama be the next president of the US?

Yes!

Firstly, the way he has approached presidency has been very thought out and planned. The attacks on him had to be indirect, because he did nothing wrong.

Furthermore, he can clearly explain the reasons for his actions on a global scale, and unlike Bush he will not make America turn on itself.

The experience that Obama has right now is much greater than that of Bill Clinton when he ran. Obama worked on the streets of Chicago helping the poor, and the other candidates are trying to make it look as if he did nothing. This is clearly not true.

Obama thinks clearly, and does what is right rather than what everyone expects. He has done this several times continuously eg, the war, handling Hillary's attacks etc...

He will be a good role model for black people.

Where he is, he got on his own. His mother and father didn't push him, he learnt on his own, the life experience he gained moving up is something you cannot gain being pushed.

He has been exposed to several cultures, and thus, is a more rounded person.

I could go on but this is enough.

PROBLEM IS THAT TOO MANY PEOPLE DO NOT WANT HIM TO BE PRESIDENT. ALSO THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE TOO LAZY TO HELP HIM EVEN THOUGH THEY SUPPORT HIM:

HILLARY SUPPORTERS ARE ON THE NET BASHING HIM, WHILE NO ONE IS THERE DEFENDING HIM:

OBAMA SUPPORTERS HAVE TO GET INVOLVED AND EDUCATED SO THAT THEY CAN OUT ARGUE THE COMPETITION THAT IS USING LIES AND DECEPTION TO WIN! THEY WILL MAKE A STATEMENT AND UNLESS YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF YOU CANNOT DEFEND YOURSELF.

But I do follow legislation, at least on some issues, and I have been surprised by how often Senator Obama turns up, sponsoring or co-sponsoring really good legislation on some topic that isn't wildly sexy, but does matter. His bills tend to have the following features: they are good and thoughtful bills that try to solve real problems; they are in general not terribly flashy; and they tend to focus on achieving solutions acceptable to all concerned, not by compromising on principle, but by genuinely trying to craft a solution that everyone can get behind.

I find it funny, how the other candidates are making things issues regarding Obama that were never issues for candidates in the past. (Like their resumes... it is utterly ridiculous...)

IT IS PEOPLE'S DECISION MAKING ABILITY, NOT THEIR RESUME THAT MAKE A GOOD CANDIDATE, WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE CANNOT SEE THIS!?

OBAMA HAS SHOWN SUPERIOR REASONING SKILLS TO ALL CANDIDATES!

I would prefer some other people, but I'm going to say yes because I think he is better than McCain.

Though I agree with McCain on economic things in principle (free markets & limited government) I don't get the impression that means it, and that is certainly reflective in his stated policies. He's kind of a half-assed conservative, where-as I'm more in line with Ron Paul on those issues.

Obama has a good record of defending civil liberties which is important to me. He is a bit of a Marxist though, which is evident from his policies, his writing, and his pastor even. However, I don't think this is necessarily bad. Marxist economics are one thing (and Obama doesn't go nearly all the way to socialism) but Marxism also includes anti-imperialism. I have a very Chomskean view of American foreign policy, and believe the biggest threat to Americas economy is militarism, and in addition to that, I believe the American hegemony is the primary source of terrorism in the world.

So, in conclusion. Even though some of Obama's economic policies will not be good for the economy and limited government, McCain's will be (startling) worse. Obama I believe, is even more antiwar than he lets on (to the point of virtual non-interventionism, with the exception of Pakistan).

And if Obama ends up being the next Jimmy Carter? Than a Ronald Reagan will follow.

Yes,I strongly think that Barack Obama Should be the next President of the united states. I say this because since it was my 1st time voting i think that his presence and his believes for Our Country were not only strong but they were good. and as an african american i stand 100% behind. Former Pres. George W.Bush Wasnt a very good president one because Of the 9-11 and our troops and two because of the Katrina. I think Barack Obama is Going to Bring Change to Our Country. People say that they didnt want another George W.Bush. Well, History has Change.

It is now 2015 and I am happy that I voted with the majority to have elected Obama twice as President.

Personally, I despise both parties (though the Republicans more so due to their recent ineptitude with Dubya's reign), and I'd much rather have a third-party candidate without big corporation ties in the white house. But, considering only the two parties' candidates have a chance at winning (thanks to lobbyists and partisanship), Obama is definitely the better choice.

With me, it's not voting FOR Obama, necessarily. It's mainly voting AGAINST McCain. Seriously, McCain is willing to stay in Iraq for decades, he has a hard on for war with Iran (which could be the end for us in several ways), wants to make Bush tax cuts permanent, overturn Roe vs. Wade, has openly opposed equal wages for men and women, and is backed not only by George W. Bush, but also by a batshit man he calls his "spiritual guide" who claimed Katrina was divine retribution for the "sinful" city of New Orleans.

And before anyone brings up Wright or racism, even if Obama was racist, how the hell would that impact his presidency? You think he'd even try to pass anti-white or pro-Muslim legislation with a cabinet and Congress comprised mostly of Caucasian Christians? (And I know he's not a Muslim; there are still some conservative nuts who think he is nonetheless).

Personally, I'd rather have Ron Paul in office, but at this point it's a choice between McCain and Obama, and I choose Obama.

While I do think he is the best candidate out of the three possible that are given to us at this point, I don't think he should be the next President. I think the next President should be Mike Gravel. His standings are more in check with mine than any other possible candidate, Ron Paul is a close second.

Supporting Evidence: Gravel '08 (www.gravel2008.us)

Agreed. The only way I would vote for Barack would be if Gravel or Paul was his running mate.

and since he will never choose them, voting for him is to vote for most everything Paul/Gravel are against...

You do realize that both of them are near polar opposites to Obama's position?
