Should Boating Licenses be Mandatory?
I live in an area that has a huge lake and lakeside housing. Everyone has a boat or they're forever towing theirs to the location on the week-ends. After another summer of reading about boating accidents and deaths do you think a boating course should be mandatory for those who wish to sail through the waters anywhere?

I think they should be mandatory...just like a car. They can be just as dangerous if not more so. Whether you're on a lake with heavy boat traffic or on the open sea it's imperative you understand that your boat can be a weapon to other boaters and swimmers in the area. The deaths I read about or the accidents that have killed or maimed are so unnecessary that a bit of common sense boating would do more good than anything. Side: Yes - For Safety
