CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

You should be worried about that... I wouldn't prefer people always thanking imaginary entities anywhere near me... but you're lucky that I have an appropriate treatment ready for you.
I'm not a Christian but I do think you should appreciate everything. This is because hardship and suffering build character and make you stronger. It's easier said than done though.
Good for you. You understand the goodness of thankfulness. Time is a gift we do not deserve, every moment of our existence could be worse as long as we are not burning in a consuming fire.
I heard something of a study which showed thankfulness is the root of happiness.......something like that; a most basic attitude require for being well adjusted.
Christianity should be thankful for America. The country that woke them up from their dreams of religious persecution, of dominance. The country that gave them a showplace for the good parts of their religion ... with a constitution that was designed to block their bad parts. America is the same for Islam and any other religion. A place that's not about to become "ruled" by any one religion .... I hope!
Those qualities are under siege at the moment. The Evangelical movement is dangerous to our Constitution. Hopefully it will be contained.
You missed the point. The Bible teaches that we are supposed to give thanks in all things which includes bad things as well as good things, and to give thanks for all things which includes bad things as well as good things......and that our giving of thanks is to be to God, thanking Him always for and in all things.
And I think that is a wonderful thought. I didn't "miss the point", I simply made another point off it. One that I think has to be considered. I can't see the "giving thanks for bad things", I can't see blindly following a "book" (written by MAN), that says I must , or should, thank a god for bad things. I consider that radicalism.
By the way, Allah seems to be the SAME god, since it is aligned with a man named Jesus, also. That religion thinks Sharia Law is a good thing. Different book, (written by MAN), same god, different teachings by Jesus. Sorry, I won't follow either unless I (we) get a clarifying message directly from one god or the other ... he seems to make things "very clear" in the mode of our virtual President. Very clear seem to be only to a few that understand!? If I will not "worship" (on a different level, of course), a President who does bad things, How can I worship a god who does bad things? Why would I? Because I am afraid of what he will do to me?? Sorry, I will not worship, or follow, out of fear ... I will fight against "bad things"!
I am "on topic", I just am not a follower without reason.
So what was the point of this debate which you made another point off off? I'm still not sure you got the point of this debate. I did not create this discussion to consider your points which have nothing to do with the point of this debate.
You can't see giving thanks for bad things because you can't see how bad things can turn out to your own good. The promise of God is that all things work together for good to those who love Him, so the sufferings of this present world are not worthy to be compared to the glory that lies ahead; and there will be rewards for how we acted in difficulties. No matter how bad things seem, if we are not burning in fire things could always be worse and we can thank God for the fact that we are not burning in fire...therein honoring God in difficulties, giving thanks to our Creator who gives us things we do not deserve.
Comparing Allah to Jesus Christ is not the subject of this discussion, but to help you a little you might want to consider that Allah (according to Mohamed the child molester, mass murderer, sex addict, and thief) says that Muslims are supposed to kill Jews and Christians before or after forcing them to be slaves to Muslims while Christ teaches that Christians are supposed to love their enemies and do good to them. Anybody who things God the Savior Jesus Christ is comparable to Allah has to be ether retarded or psychotic and if neither of those things then they are just plain hateful trying to make up stupid stories to antagonize people.
Fight against bad things until you are blue in the face if you want to, you're losing....without reason.
You worship your own mind, and look at all the bad things it does. That is how you can worship a god which does bad things, while you hate the God who gives you the freedom to do bad things....and don't tell me you have not done bad things, you boast of being a dirty old man and you have made yourself and others dirty. Try to be honest.
Why do you sound like so many other broken records, saying the same stupid things as so many others and telling yourself that your rhetoric is unanswerable.....like a little kid holding his fingers in his ears while making gibberish noises to block out challenges to his thoughts.
So go ahead and never willfully worship your Creator. If that's the way you want to be, fine....and too bad for you, one day God will get from you the honor He deserves for creating you when you will honor his name against your will in the fire of Hell, when at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess to the glory of God the father that Jesus Christ is LORD.
You think you are so smart and strong, you're an old fool. I hope you wise up but I doubt that you will, so by all means have the most wonderful life you possibly can as long as you can and I mean that in all sincerity. Enjoy your time as much as you possibly can.
Why are you so cranky? It is said that in Stalin's dying moments, he shook his fist in angry defiance at God. That's you....a cranky old fool going to find out for yourself that it's no good to oppose God; it only goes against your own life.
You sure have a lot of mumbo jumbo. The Bible says you are supposed to be thankful in and for all things. Are you being thankful in and for all things? Do you thank God for difficulties, like Job should have been doing from day one if his heart was right with God?
If you want to discuss whether Job is a historical account or an allegorical story, you need to go create your own discussion. If you thank God for difficulties, why do you whine so much?
Since you seem unable to focus on the topic of discussion here, I suggest that elsewhere you testify of things in your life which are difficult and how and why you thank God for those things, and in those things as you go through them or carry their loads.
