I am forced to disagree with you again, Bra'a. Even though cloning those mammoths would be harsh for them, they would be for the benefit of the greater good. Well your question says that should cloning be allowed in general. Isn't that right, Bra'a? Now just a part of the cloning dilemma involves recreating the extinct. I won't admit that you managed to convince me that undoing extinction is a bad thing, but you seem to have your mind set and you probably won't change your point of view. How about we move on to cloning livestock. This is good because scientist can create these animals that supply us with meat and milk and tamper their genetic information so that their meat and milk is much more healthy than that of the original one. If I were you, (which I am), I wouldn't be too happy with eating something that's not real. Don't you agree, Bra'a? Even though it has all the genetic materials of the original one, it has become man made, and there are those things that I believe should not be tampered with. And that's totally ignoring the religious side of this issue. Life is made by God. I think that's the way things should remain. I mean, who are we to step up and play God? If you mean the replying to myself and/or my own topic then I think I have to clarify: I had to do that because I'm have a multi-genre project for science and I decided to do a debate so that I could present the pros and cons to cloning. Besides I'm finished now, I'll leave it to the other people to do the rest of the arguing. I just need a good grade and I'll never show up. I was actually pretty surprised to see that people had started replying to it. It wasn't part of my plan. Anyways, I won't "keep it up". Side: Yes, cloning should be allowed

I think that cloning should be legal for medical purposes. If you are going to lose your kidney i think that the doctors should be able to clone you another one and not have to wait on some person to die so that you can have theirs. Also think about how many people die because they cant find replacements for their organs when something happens. So cloning should be legal for that kind of thing only, it would be creepy if you made another one of yourself. Side: Yes, cloning should be allowed

I actually didn't think about that, and I didn't see that for any of my sources. Even though I'm against cloning entire beings, the idea of cloning for a replacement of a body part is not just not bad, but actually pretty brilliant. Thanks for that bit of insight. I have to disagree with you, Bra'a. Cloning should not be allowed because of several reasons. To counter your argument, I'll just say, these animals died for a reason. Would it not be harsh for us to bring them back into this world after it has become unfit for them. For example, the woolly mammoths lived during the Ice Age and their entire bodies are adapted to the freezing environment of that time. As soon as the weather began heating up again they began dying off slowly until they became extinct because their bodies were unable to adapt to the warming environment. The environment now is much warmer than it was back then when they first began dying, so can you imagine how miserable they would be in today's climate. -Bra'a Huer Al Duien Side: No, cloning should be banned

I love the direction this is going, Bra'a. You say that cloning will be good for the greater good. But what if you put that mammoth through that entire process and you discover nothing before it dies again? Will you try it again and again with other "specimen"? Because if you are that's just plain evil. We cannot keep on putting these animals through all that misery just in order to figure out something that doesn't really need to be figured out. Extinction happens for a reason. It's part of the natural cycle. Imagine if somebody discovered how to clone dinosaurs all that time ago. Imagine where we would be. Extinction happens for a reason.
