There is a libertarian ideal at play here, namely that children or at least their parents should be able to decide if they buy into the education system through attendance. However, the reality is that compulsory education was introduced expressly because that ideal did not play out.

Education is always needed. You can easily get ripped off when buying from a shop if you don't know your maths. Education is meant to help you open your mind and learn new things.

I think they should have to go until the age of 13 or 14. Because you need to learn to read and write, know basic maths and also understand social interaction which you learn from school. But the age of 13 or 14 you long have been taught all this and if you don't want to take an academic pathway and you have your parents you should be able to dropout if school and take vocational courses as if you are just going to have a manual job when you are older your last years at school will just be a waste of time.

Yes. Although I wouldn't drop out of school even if I had the choice because I want to follow an academic path.
