Yes, marijuana should be legalized. There are very few negative effects to marijuana use and very many beneficial effects. You can't OD. You can't have a fatal allergic reaction. It makes you happy, hungry, and sociable. I can find no logical reason for it to be illegal, and especially for it to be a Schedule I substance. Side: Legal
This is a no brainer. 1) Criminalization is an unjustified intrusion on individual liberty. The precedence has been set with alcohol. It is logically inconsistent to favor the prohibition of one, but not the other. 2) No significant health effects. No long-term brain damage. Doesn't cause cancer. Not a single person has ever died from pot usage. And on the flip side, it has a plethora of benefits. 3) Legalization does not lead to an increase in usage. When the Portuguese essentially de-criminalized it, usage decreased. This decrease included a drastic decrease in underage usage. Side: Legal
