Should NFL Players be Allowed to Take a Knee

Hello H:

It's not a matter of allowing, or not.. It's their Constitutional right. That means the government CANNOT make it illegal.

But the NFL can inforce rules against it. If a member of the cast of "Hamilton" threw on a kkk hood as a political statement, you know as well as I do that his boss would show him the door and would have the legal right to. Of course you don't want to address the NFL's rights. That's what the left does-throw the law and Constitution in the ring when it fits their argument. Then piss on it when it doesn't. Libs are only about laws they like. The rest can go to hell.

Hello bront:

If you actually READ the Constitution, you'd KNOW that football leagues DON'T have rights, but players, like Colin Kaepernik, DO..

HOW did you miss that??

The scum bucket Kaepernik cannot be jailed for it but his employers could fire his " oppressed " ass ....and should .......

According to Title 36 (section 171) of the United States Code, “During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in (military) uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.”

The question, of course, is whether “should” in the first sentence means “must” or “shall.”

As an individual, they are allowed to have their freedom of speech as given to them by the US Constitution. Although it is important to take into account that when they are on the field they are also representing their team and since they are employed by said team it is up to the employers to decide whether or not they are willing to continue to employ someone who acts in such a way because obviously not every NFL team wants to be dubbed "unpatriotic".

This means that while the NFL players have every right to kneel, their employers have every right to fire them because of it. And in my view, that is the way it should be. If you are not on the field, if you are not representing anything more than yourself and your views then, by all means, take a knee, flip the bird at the or even heil the damn thing. However, when you are representing a group, especially one that has employed you, you have to bear in mind that what you do has impacts on your employer and the company as a whole. To me, if you are not in a uniform do what anything that your right to free speech allows. But, when you are in a uniform you may suffer consequences for your actions.

So do I think NFL players should be allowed to take the knee? Yes. And if they do it in uniform and are representing a company I also think they should be able to be fired or at least punished for doing so. If it was my team and I employed the members on it I'd probably punishing them for giving the team bad PR but like I said, that's up to the employer.

Politics have no place in sports , this scum bucket Kaepernik is employed to play football no one wants to hear his opinion on religion , politics or beliefs in general ; it also shows a total disrespect to his employers , his team mates and the ever loyal fans

The players are employees of the team they play for and people like Kaepernik are merely using the team as his personal platform to show and demonstrate his " pain" at blacks being oppressed .

I wonder how much of his millions and time he donates to the " cause " of fighting black oppression .

He also wore socks depicting police as pigs thus like the brain dead retard he is demonising the lot of them ; I'm surprised his teammates have not kicked the shit out of the scumbag .

Americans have gone very soft scumbags like Kaepernik would not get away with his bullshit over here .

Hello bront:

It's not a matter of allowed,or not.. It's their Constitutional right. Have you read the Constitution??

What??? Because I'm a Jew and a liberal, I should think different??? Nahhh.. I'm a CONSTITUTIONALIST.. Don't you wish you were one?? The government simply cannot make laws prohibiting a KKK demonstration..

But, I'm NOT the government.. I owe the KKK NOTHING. So, it'd be FINE with me if the black players kick the shit out of 'em.. Klaners should ALWAYS get the shit kicked out of 'em..

We know Con. We understand that you can't grasp that no one can imprison these men for free speech vs the NFL can say adios to these men for statements that go against NFL rules. We understand that you have no clue about the rights of the NFL on their property, their forum, and their dime as a private company. Yes, if a McDonalds employee makes political statements at work, and McDonalds doesn't like it? They can toss said employee right out the door. As a matter of fact, they can toss them out the door for no given reason at all. Be sure and explain to us which part you don't understand about the difference between free speech vs the rights of companies.

Really? You said you wanted to abolish the second amendment just the other day on this very forum...

Wouldn't that make you as anti Constitutionalist as is humanly possible...
