I thought about this. And i am sorry about my clarification unless you meant to insult. HOWEVER, on a meaningful perspective...i want to know if a religious person's response to that. I am friends with Srom and i don't mean to be rude. However, i am curious as to what a religious person might say to that. Side: Yes

Yes, definitely they should have the right, but it shouldn't be mandatory. While I'm for regulation of firearms (but not taking away your guns, you hicks), people have the right to a means of self-defence, be it a gun or the anal flamethrower one acquires from eating at Taco Bell. Side: Yes
A person must repel an attack upon themselves, for self-preservation. This is instinctual(inherent) and they use their Free-will to decide by what manner and means to act upon this. That means that they are right to choose whatever weapon they see as the best and quickest effective way to stop an attack immediately. If they decide a firearm such as a pistol or rifle is best suited, so be it. However, there are consequences to every action we do, both positive and negative. So, I am NOT suggesting someone go out and get a gun, without first knowing how to use it. If, God forbid, one should have to take a life in defense of their own, they must be skillful and accurate enough to hit the other who is presenting the immediate danger to them. They do not want to hit an innocent bystander. There are many who think guns are cool and they want one because of this ignorance. Any, action they take, they own and if they get a gun and use it recklessly they suffer the consequences. But a gun or weapon of any sort is an inanimate object intended for such purposes. And if an enemy(one who uses violence to get what they want) will go and get it to commit wrongful acts then, those who do their best to do the right action, must have the means to be able to stop such violence with defensive force. Therefore, the answer is yes, the decision is personal preference to provide for protection for themselves and by extension any they may have under their care. Side: Yes
