It is very dangerous to keep exotic animals in captivity.

Some exotic animals are'nt a problem but there are a lot that pose a danger to the public if they get out. There was a case in Ohio a couple of years ago where a guy kept lots of dangerous animals when his wife left him and he ran out of money he let the animals out and killed himself it ended up with 48 dangerous animals roaming the small town he lived in. These were all mature, aggresive animals and the majority had to be shot. I watched a documentary about it lots of beautiful animals ended up dead and the people that had to shoot them were deeply affected by it so I dont think it is fair on the animals and the people who have to clean up the mess if they escape to keep them as pets.

I agree with with your argument regarding the the adoption and containment of the numerous types of exotic animals.

Exotic animals do not make good companions. They require special care, housing, diet, and maintenance that the average person cannot provide. When in the hands of private individuals the animals suffer due to poor care. They also pose safety and health risks to their possessors and any person coming into contact with them.

Individuals possessing exotic animals often attempt to change the nature of the animal rather than the nature of the care provided. Such tactics include confinement in small barren enclosures, chaining, beating “into submission,” or even painful mutilations, such as declawing and tooth removal. http://www.bornfreeusa.org/facts.php?p=187&more;=1

Well no because most animals, besides chimps, can't communicate with us. If someone wants to own an exotic pet let them.

I would rather keep an exotic dancer ;)

I'm sure there are some monkeys that can dance.

They are dangerous. Also, one has the possibility to escape causing havoc in a neighborhood.

I dont think people should be able to keep exotic animals as pets. Exotic animals have grown up forever in the wild and attack everything for food and dont know what they should and shouldnt eat. Especially someone who thinks they are in control of the animal.

They could keep them if they knew how to care for them. If the animal has the right care, it wouldn't be harmed. There are many people in the world with exotic animals.

No. Animals should be able to be kept in their natural habitat. They are WILD ANIMALS and can be very dangerous even in their natural habitat. Here is a link that backs my point saying this is a bad idea: http://www.bornfreeusa.org/facts.php?p=187&more;=1

Keeping exotic animals such as monkeys and tigers can be very dangerous towards the animal and the person who owns them. Because the animals have basic primal instincts that aren't out of them and they can revert back to that at any moment and attack.

I don't agree to keep exotic animals as pets from http://www.onegreenplanet.org said to keep wild animals as pets if you cannot take care of them good enough they can get sick or if they got out they may cause danger to other people.

Also, some people release the exotic animals after the overwhelming effect of trying to keep the animals. If the animal survives, it could become an invasive species. Florida is being taken over by invasive species and this is allowing native species to become extinct or pushed out of their habitat. The start of the invasive species was the release of exotic pets. https://www.nature.org/ourinitiatives/regions/northamerica/unitedstates/florida/howwework/combating-invasive-species-in-florida.xml

Where is the proof on this? I agree, but back it up with something.

Side: Yes

No. Most times those animals have been ripped from their natural habitat away from their family at a very young age. And many times the owner of the unfortunate creature doesn't have the sense God gave a billie goat and treats it like a child instead of an actual animal. There have been many instances where exotic animals have attacked a person and had to be put down because of it.

No, I do not believe that people should be able to keep exotic aniamls as pets. Even if these animals are "cute and cuddly," they are still wild animals. Owners often release their pets after a few months. According to https://steemit.com/nature/@herpetologyguy/why-you-don-t-want-an-alligator-for-a-pet-advice-from-an-alligator-trainer, alligators can grow up to 15 feet. These animals soon become expensive to feed and maintain. They are then released back "into the wild." This can be a problem for neighborhoods with small children. Furthermore, animals such as the Burmese Python are relased into areas such as Florida. http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/nonnatives/reptiles/burmese-python/ says that these snakes have become an invasive species destorying the natural balance in the Everglades. This is why people should not be allowed to keep exotic aniamls as pets.

Exotic animals — lions, tigers, wolves, bears, reptiles, non-human primates — belong in their natural habitat and not in the hands of private individuals as “pets.” By their very nature, these animals are wild and potentially dangerous and, as such, do not adjust well to a captive environment.

People should not be able to keep exotic animals as pets. Exotic animals require special diets, maintenance, care, and housing. Usually, the average person can not suffice the care needed of the animals. This causes safety and health risks to the animals. Also, the animals can cause safety risks to their owner. As a wild animal, they will continue to have wild instincts that may cause them to "attack". http://www.bornfreeusa.org/facts.php?p=187&more;=1

Along with everything else stated, most of the time these animals end up in roadside zoos or somewhere else due to the handler not being able to care for them. The animals require too much care and especially when they get older.

I do not think that exotic animals should be kept as pets. They belong in their natural habitat. These animals do not adjust very well, when being kept in confinement. Also keeping these animal puts their handler at risk for diseases passed by the animals.

I do not think exotic animals should be kept as pets it can be very dangerous. I understand some people raise them since they were little so they think it's okay but they can turn on you they are exotic for a reason. They can also become sick or die because the owners do not know how to take care of them properly. Here is some evidence I have found: Baby animals can be irresistibly adorable—until the cuddly baby becomes bigger and stronger than the owner ever imagined. The instinctive behavior of the adult animal replaces the dependent behavior of the juvenile, resulting in biting, scratching, or displaying destructive behaviors without provocation or warning. Such animals typically become too difficult to manage and are confined to small cages, passed from owner to owner, or disposed of in other ways. There are not enough reputable sanctuaries or other facilities to properly care for unwanted wild animals. They can end up back in the exotic pet trade. Some may be released into the wild where, if they survive, they can disrupt the local ecosystem. http://m.humanesociety.org/issues/exotic_pets/facts/

I do not believe that people should be allowed to as keeping an exotic animal could become a danger to not only the person handling the animal, but to everyone in the community. Multiple cases of exotic animals lashing out have been documented across America. (https://www.naturalnews.com/037183petmonkeyFrostedFlakesanimalattack.html)

I don't think that people should keep Exotic animals as pets. Exotic animals are not domesticated. More animals are held captive than there are in the wild. For instance, its estimated that over 5,000 tigers reside in the U.S. homes. Born Free USA has documented over 2,000 attacks, incidents and escapes involving exotic pets since 1990.

there are many risks to the person caring for this animal as well as health risk to the animal they are caring for. It's hard to say no someone should not have an exotic animal as a pet, because it would be very cool. when you look at the many risks that these animals come along with so that is why i'm saying no, people should not have exotic animals as pets. http://www.bornfreeusa.org/facts.php?p=187&more;=1

Keeping exotic animals as pets. Sure it would be fun, and different. Like who wouldn't want a monkey or a tiger? That would be so fun. You could train these exotic pets. It would take longer than normal pets because they have those instincts from being in the wild. Here are some exotic animals that are at home pets. barkpost.com/exotic-pets-dogs/

Yes! I think it is completely and totally ok with keeping them. As long as they meet the legal requirement such as permits, "Permit and health certificate required to import and possess certain animals into the state." http://injury.findlaw.com/torts-and-personal-injuries/exotic-animal-laws-by-state.html also keeping others aware of your animal to prevent any injuries, that can possibly happen.

What do you suggest that people do with animals that they no lobnger want to/have the ability to care for?

http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/nonnatives/reptiles/burmese-python/

This website shows how the Burmese Python, a common exotic pet, has become an invasive species in Florida. The species was introduced when exotic pet owners relased them into the Everglades. I would be fine if people could care for their pets, but not if they will be relased into habitats that they do not belong in.

Many people already have exotic animals as pets. These animals include scorpions, sugar gliders, tarantulas, bearded dragon, hissing cockroaches, hedgehogs, pythons (varies types), and even skunks. I believe that certain people should be able to own exotic pets, but only if they know how to properly take care of them. https://barkpost.com/exotic-pets-dogs/

i think they should be able to keep exotic animals because its there own decision so they can if they want to. also if they treat them like a pet and take care of them, they should be able to. and if they get bit or attacked its there own fault
