Of course... seriously, what's the problem with using a state issued driver's license or ID? Anyone who is 18+ and doesn't have one of those two is just stoooopid anyway and probably shouldn't be voting.

Side: Yes

It makes sense. There is nothing to be alarmed about if one is required to have a Voter ID.

Side: Yes

Too much paper work, chances of getting lost or destroyed and chances of getting faked. I will stick with the current one

A drivers license would work. I just mean should a person Identify themselves at the voting booth.

What about the chances of getting your ID stolen and the informations on it falsified

chances of getting faked

Hahahah... yeah, because taking someone's word on who they are is so much more reliable.

I believe the current security is much better than getting your ID stolen then someone changed the picture on it

We did fine without it for 250 years, now the republicans want it because more minorities are voting, this is a ploy to discourage minorities from voting, kind of like how some states make it so no one with felonies can vote, and those states give minorities a felony for a dime bag of weed when when whites get off with a mister meaner and a fine with an ounce of cocaine because it's there is a higher likelihood that they might vote republican.

(Kind of an off topic story but relates to American inequality) Here is a true personal story of mine, like 15 years ago a close white friend of mine got caught selling weed by the pound, something like 7 pounds of weed, long story short he only got 2 years probation and fines, why because his dad worked some political office, meanwhile I go to jail for a few months because I get caught with a bong and a small amount (like a quarter OZ) of weed, I got hit with a 10K fine and a felony charge, it was later dropped to a mister meaner, why because I'm Hispanic.

I understand there is inequality, but do you think that requiring a licence to drive is meant to discourage minorities from driving?

Perhaps the problem isn't minorities as such but non-citizens. In the modern age transportation is much easier and the non-citizen population is bigger than ever before. Any citizen needs the right to vote, minority or otherwise, but we need to see that they are actually citizens.

The justice department is starting to press charges against states that are passing laws to require an ID. Some of these states have set up free outlets to get your ID and will provide transportation to get it if you can't afford it. How does this actually discourage anyone?

Also, dead people should stop voting.

Good point! Everyone knows minorities can't drive cars.
