well star craft (a video game) is a national sport in south korea, anything could happen.

Side: yes

I think Chess and Checkers should be considered a Sport and it would be fun to see these games being televised.

Anything you can do while holding a beer, cannot possibly be a sport.

Side: No

LOL. Agreed.

Side: No

Chess and checkers are only board games that only use your brain to win. There is no athleticism involved in these games. Chess and checkers masters should not be considered athletes, but rather people who spent too many rainy days inside playing these games.

not true. chess masters... and even amatures have to devote endless hours to preperation and learning .... not just playing on rainy days. chess masters deserve a lot more respect than they get. plus many chess masters have to spend time in the gym as although it may not appear physical, a propper 7/8 hour chess match is very draining ... being fit in these long play games can be a large factor.

I respect chess masters. They are very good strategists. I just think that chess/checkers shouldn't be in the same league as conventional sports.

Side: No

If chess/checkers are sports, they are mental sports rather than physical sports.
