Not necessarily. Studies - albeit well-hidden studies - are showing that the risk of secondhand smoke has been exaggerated. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/ Side: No because...
Your first link is almost 20 years old, pretty bad for anything science related. Your second link is a blog that cites the third link for a portion of its argument. The third link is attacking a scientific study that is over 20 years old again. Also the framing of the argument is not quite right, as is often the case with the heartland. They state the study does not make a hard case for correlation then go with a fallacy called 'negative proof fallacy'. They are saying since the EPA report did not prove what they wanted then the opposite is true. Nope, to prove the opposite is true you have to prove that it is true. If someone is attacking old science when new science is available that should be a red flag that their argument may be weak. Here is some non blogs that have some RECENT information. These findings are derived from peer reviewed studies and have their citations at the bottom of the pages, several things that are often neglected in documents from the heartland. http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/ http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/datastatistics/factsheets/secondhandsmoke/healtheffects/ http://www.epa.gov/smokefree/pubs/ http://www8.nationalacademies.org/ Side: Yes because...

Until the day all plants and natural occurring things on the earth are considered legal, cigarettes should be illegal. They are poisonous and destructive. I don't know how anyone can smoke a cigarette and think that it's no big deal. I'm not a prude or a stuck up sonofabitch but seriously, those things are terrible for you. I do partake in smoking and ingesting marijuana for both recreation and for any pain/inflammation I may have at the time. It makes me pretty mad that it is looked down upon and seen as a "dirty" thing to do by many people, my family and friends included. One day people, one day it will be legal across the board.
