Should entertainers try to influence the public on political issues?
Artists often make songs about pressing issues in society that the people have the power to change in an effort to get people to, but they are entertainers.
Actors often tell people about how they feel on a certain subject almost like they're trying to change public opinion. etc.
Should they be out to make a change or should they just stick to entertaining?

Celebrities nowadays are so concerned and obsessed with money, it's to the point now where it's disgusting. They have it corrupt them so much, they'll say anything in order to get it, even if what they say isn't true. you have a lot of high platform celebrities, like rappers only talking about girls, drugs, partying, and the non important transient materialistic items that seem to be running their lives. If you're in a position of power like that and you have people looking up to you, then you should be swaying them to the more important things, like love and not hate. Nothing that'll negatively influence them, especially the ones that have audiences that target smaller kids. I think it's your duty as a icon to help change the world because it's you and not some random person on the street, that's gonna influence the masses, so if you have that many heads turned your way, do it in a positive manner. A random person on the street may negatively influence a couple people but a celebrity can interfere with thousands if not millions. they should speak their mind because expressing yourself is the most important thing you can do. Without it, we don't have new ways of thinking. a person that wants to change the world for the better, wants to get to a high position of power, because they wanna help as many people as possible. if you're there, you should be doing what you love and also be expressing your opinions on certain things, especially if they'll help. They should participate In political issues. They have just a right as anybody else because we're all human. They should only do this though if they have good intentions. Also, I think people should like artists regardless of what their views are. If you like the song, nothing else should matter. So if you're an artist out there that's worried about what you say because it might make your fans not listen to you .. I think most artists rather have true fans rather than fake fans. When they get caught up in their message they cause problems for those who don't care for their message. If you support an artists who does not support gay rights, gay people begin to treat you like you don't support their rights, even if you don't care and just like the song. Plus with that kind of power they are using bias, whether the cause is noble or the cause is wicked people don't care they are just along for the bandwagon. Side: They should not
