There are ongoing debates as to whether gangsta rap should be censored due to its lyrics linked to violent and illegal acts. Personally, as a rap addict and lover, I confess that rap is just another victim that the government is attempting to control. As Chris Rock religiously states; "the government hates rap". What do you say about gangsta rap? Should it be censored or do youths and adults alike have the right to be shakin' that booty to Tupac's thug life album and Eminem, Dr.Dre and the likes?

Side: No

It seems common sense to censor it whenever there is a public around, exceptions being rap concerts of course lol.Rap is generally not sensible enough to be around youth, but for mature areas like a strip club what the hell does it matter.

freedom of speech. It really depends on the rap what is says and not just individual words.

Saying the "f" word, "b" word, "c" word (and i should not be afraid to say the word cunt but i grew up in a way to not like it). Words are not bad. It is the uses of the word that makes it bad. Words express feelings and they evolve. Saying the word "bad" was TERRIBLE in the sense of feelings. But nowadays, if you say it is "bad" the feelings is like a poke at your arm.

If you say the "f" word, then it hits you like a bricks. But that is because society hates words like that and it makes no sense to not say it.

Saying that life is "f" up is not wrong. But saying that in a way to disrespect people is wrong. I don't like to disrespect people unless it is for the greater good. Such as disrespecting Hitler. You can disrespect him by saying "release the jewish people" but that is for the greater good. Saying words to just hurt people is wrong.

Raps should not be censored because it is the artist work and who has the right to change their artisitic vision. Also it doesnt sound as good when you hear little beeps that break up the music. ;);) Also I personally like to cuss with the rapper and I dont like to say beep when I hear the song on the radio. But thats just me. <3 #iloverap!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who don't like it, just don't listen to it, much like myself.----------------

Side: No

It's only music and music should not be censored. Minors should be told not to emulate any violence talked about in the music.

Although your argument about the musical part is valid, what minor have you met that will ACTUALLY listen to rules about what to do? Music IS just music, but if it's popular music, minors will want to be in the trend. The lyrics stimulate violent thoughts and, especially for teens, those minors will strike because it is what "cool people" do.
