Should government officials be required to take a civics test before taking office?
Recently a number of U.S. government officials flunked a civics test given by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.

Should they be required to take a basic test in order to qualify for a position in government?
Below is the link for the test they took.

I agree with democracy, and that anyone should be able to get elected, but they should at least know the basics. The civics test the article was talking about is extremely simple and if a politician wants to be in office they should at least make public their results on such a test. Our government cannot survive if it is constantly being run by idiots. Side: Yes, they should

nope, it's up to us to decide who gets elected, not a handful of elites (by giving tests). now, if the media gets involved, it can pressure politicians into taking the test for shits and giggles and the media reporting to everyone what their result was. but that's as far as it should go. Side: No, they shouldn't
