The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a startling revelation for 2015. It is projected that deaths from guns will surpass deaths from car fatalities in 2015. An estimated 33,000 Americans will lose their lives from guns as opposed to an estimated 32,000 Americans who will die in car accidents. The gun violence in America is an American Shame! did you read your argument? Really? hertz? This isn't a texting site this is a debate site and no guns do not hurt anyone people do. Its people without a proper background check or who are just plain insane. I am a gun owner and i have not once ever had the thought of using them to hurt someone unless in self defense. Another point to be raised is that even if guns are banned people who want them will get them. The United States is not the only country that makes and distributes guns. All Nations produce guns and there is a thing called the Black Market, Drug Cartels, and Alley Deals. Another point is that people have the right to own a gun in case of self defense or worse a tyrannical government. Guns are not bad, there's just bad people and they are the one's to blame for the harm that is caused. Do you blame the gun for when someone is hurt or do you blame the shooter. Do you condemn a gun to prison or death or a person. I don't know about else where but here in Texas we know that people are the ones to blame for the weapon violence. Side: Guns shouldn't be banned

Yes they should. Guns kill people. Simple as. If there's more guns on the street - more people are likely to be shot. Higher number of people being shot = higher number of innocent people being shot. You get rid of guns - you get rid of thousands of avoidable deaths. If it was sweden or finland - it wouldn't matter. But because it's America - guns need to be outlawed. Side: Guns should be banned
Reead your arguement. So your saying guns kill people. Simple question for you. How does anyone at gun shows make it out alive? Guns dont kill people its a inanimate object. While we are banning guns lets ban cars they kill people and pillows as well. Lets not forget pencils and sheets. Sheets kill prisoners all the time. your ignorance is what has caused america to fall and start on its downward decent to failure. A inanimate object is nothing more than a object. A person who wants to harm others will harm them no matter what if thats what thier mind is set on. China bans guns 20 million die in camps. need I go on? No matter what you do guns will always be around. There are ways to get anything you want if you look hard enough. Taking away guns from americans opens up more than just more violent crimes it also opens the doors for other countries to invade. Now on to recent shootings. DId you know that the school and the movie theatre both have no guns allowed signs posted. That is simply saying to the person wanting to cause harm to others there is noone that will stop me. no law abiding citizen is armed. If those signs were not posted and someone had a gun on them the shooting would have been stopped before it got out of hand. Unfortunatley guns have been invented and we can not go back and uninvent them. You also mentioned sweeden. Did you know they have the lowest Violent crimes per capa in the world. its so low they dont keep statistics. Did you also know that EVERY HOME HAS A FULLY AUTOMATIC ASSUALT WEAPON. Every civilian is trained to shoot them. Sweden HAs only been invaded once. And since then they have made it a point to keep its citizens armed. Side: Guns shouldn't be banned
Guns in America SHOULD be banned. They can be a danger to everyone and everything. I think that hunters and people like that should have a permit for guns. Just like a Driver's licence :) They go through their "L's" with guns and then "P's" and so forth. While I personally don't like guns and will probably never own one, I see no logic in banning them outright. It won't automatically create a safer society (Brazil, anyone?), it can limit our effectiveness in case of invasion, and it is constitutionally protected. I do wish there was a way of preventing the violent, unstable and/or irresponsible members of our society from obtaining firearms, but a ban doesn't guarantee that condition at all. No, and good thing neither party has ever suggested such... oh wait, tell me you didn't fall yet again for the yearly NRA "them's libral gonna takes our guns" bs and so you went out and spent your paycheck on a bunch of guns you don't need. Good point. I would argue the difference is that gay marriage, abortion, and marijuana are not used in crimes that kill people. I have no problem with a responsible person without a criminal record owning a gun. I do have a problem with my retarded drug dealing wife beating neighbor owning a gun though, unfortunately the way it is if hand guns are not illegal in an entire area, every douche bag can get their hands on a gun. Gun sellers never ever hold themselves to any laws concerning gun control, if hitler walked into a gun store, they would sell him a gun. So the only way to control it somewhat is for areas, where the majority of the neighbours are douche bags, to say okay no one gets a gun. The best solution would be to not only throw the criminal in jail, but trace the seller of the firearm, and penalize the company that allowed their weapon to get into the hands of a criminal. That would force them to sell guns responsibly. That likely won't happen any time soon, so the only solution is for areas with huge crime rates to make owning a gun illegal Side: Guns shouldn't be banned

If guns are banned than why is the military carrying guns? If we had no guns than there would be more crimes for ex smuggling in guns, murder, rape,muggings and so on. Guns don't kill people only people kill people and what about terrorism. If terrorists heard we banned guns that would make the U.S. more easy to attack. What about the 2nd amendment where people have the right to bare arms? That's breaking the law and besides the supreme-court would not let the law pass. Side: both but more on guns shouldn't bebanned

If guns are banned, that won't stop people from killing eachother! Knives are just as lethal. Guns should not be banned, and Obama thinks that anything that "looks" threatening should be banned. I think there should be a bit more regulation. Especially to prevent guns getting into the hands of gang members and stuff like that. In LA there are too many gang members with guns, and as a result more murders. Guns should be only kept for protection only. Guns are really fun, yes, I agree.
