Should homosexuals be allowed to adopt?

I think if there is a homosexual couple and they are willing to adopt and give a child a loving home then there's no reason they shouldn't, there's more children in need of a home than there are couples willing to adopt so as long as a couple passes all the relevant tests their sexuality shouldn't matter.

Side: Yes

There is no reason to prevent Gay parents from adopting. They can be the same type of loving parents as heterosexual couples.

Obviously because anyone would rather two moms then no mom, or two dads than no dad. and a gay couple has the same ability to raise a child as a straight couple.

It can't be assumed that they won't indoctrinate their adopted child into homosexuality. That's not to say anything is wrong with homosexuality, but it's a sad fact of growing up that being gay is harder than being straight. No child should have to go through that pain they may experience in high school or wherever else they may be discriminated.

You daemon's spokesperson :P

Firstly, I have yet to read any evidence that would suggest that there children of homosexual couples are more likely to be homosexual. Even if there were...:

There is no such thing as the perfect parent and every parent will have traits that may or may not negatively effect the development of that children. It should be up to the individual prospective parents to decide whether those traits are so serious to mean that the child has no realistic chance of a good development. This is a question about individuals and not something that could be dealt with by a legislative ban.

Side: Yes

You have swayed me. I have never given this side of the argument a try, and I thought it'd be fun. It was not because I did not know what I was talking about. You swayed me with this statement.

I find it to be true because if that were the case there would be no homosexual people since parent begin heterosexual.

By that theory, homosexual children of heterosexual parents shouldn't exist.
