Should kids have boyfriends/girlfriends?

My daughter came to me saying if she can have a boyfriend, help me right now by answering. Thank you!

Depending on how old the kid is and their maturity level, yes.

I'd say that would depend on their age. I'm not going to give an exact number...that's up to the parent to decide, and also the maturity of the kid in question.

But I do believe that when the desired age/maturity level has been reached, allow the kid to date. First, if you don't allow it, many kids will just do it anyway, even those who are otherwise well behaved. This lead to a serious breakdown in trust, and train them to hide things from you. Secondly, its a learning experience, and probably not one you can teach them just by talking to them. Although you should be taking to them and encouraging them to talk to you about the relationship, and maybe you can catch problems ahead of time. And...the first few will probably be very dramatic, especially for girls. Might as well get over it while still a kid as opposed to experiencing this all for the first time in college.

It's not hurting anything. Even if they're young child and not a teenager then it's going to be just a harmless and meaningless thing.

Sure.

It's OK for kids to have sex.

Yeah sure. Down vote me for pointing out the most worst and most likely outcome. You're only adding to the already large pool of delusional human beings.

Pathetic down voter.

I'd say about 14 ~ 16 is a reasonable age to start dating, in my opinion.

I think a lot of it depends on how old you are however I think you should let your daughter have a boyfriend; as long as they don't go too far and do inappropriate stuff. If they are younger than 8 or 11 it's just fun and games. If they are 12-16 I would just keep an eye. They will probably not do any sexual things. At 12-13 they just say "they are going" to look "cool"

It depends on both the biological age and the maturity of your kid, but basically I'd say dating can legitimately start in high school. But I'd point out dating is in fact dating. It is not that simply the first person you ever date is your boyfriend/girlfriend and that's it, done. Too many young people learning relationships think there's something wrong if it's not automatically a girlfriend/boyfriend situation.

It's too much of an early age. What if you start marrying at 12?

Side: No

Dating is not marrying. Dating can be as simple as two kids going to the skating rink together. Everything that happens above and beyond that is situational. Are you saying two kids can't go skating at age 12?

Do you know how old your daughter is ?

Judging by your grammar and syntax I am guessing the so called daughter is you and you are pretending to be mommy.

So if some of is say Yes you can show if to her and say.....See Mom? All these smart people think it's OK if I have boyfriend!

And you did not mention your so called daughters age.

Would a mother really do that?

I would hope she's not that ditzy.

I am guessing you're about 13?

How am I doing so far?

I am also guessing you won't answer or post again.

We will see!

Do you enjoy guessing peoples age ? You do tend to do it a lot. Also, a lot of adults suck ass at grammar.

My kids are now grown so those days are thankfully over with. It's very tough trying to keep our children from ruining their lives with some idiot. It was a little easier for me because i sent my kids to a Christian school where there was not so much peer pressure to date.

I had a rule that my children could not date until they graduated.

You would think that would have started world war three but I made sure that the kids knew of this rule from the time they were in elementry school, so there was no big shock.

It all worked out good and i am glad I stuck to my guns:)

From my recollection of High School, and College, the kids that grew up in the most strict households were usually the wildest. You're probably thinking "But not my kids" which is the exact same thing every parent says, but kids have a way of surprising you.

I have found the exact opposite to be true as we have seen from our past history in this nation.

Teahing our children moral values and having strong rules DO HELP! 50 years ago there were far less unwed pregnancies, etc.

Once puberty hits there is a sexual need. They probably had relationships without you knowing. I imagine created a mindset in which relationship are some dirty little secret or else they have to spend years alone masturbating knowing they cant touch the opposite sex.

Oh and well done for not mentioning democrats in at least one post :)

Do you try to be an idiot or just act like one no matter what?

You as always make up words to insult Christians or Conservatives.

So tell me when I have ever called sex dirty? Anything in life can be made dirty or it can be wonderful.

Sex between a man and woman in a monogamous committed marriage is a wonderful thing. It becomes dirty when you turn it into promiscuity with partner after partner with no love, no committment and the resulting children left with a lifetime of no father, but more likely a case worker.

You sent your kids to a Christian school?

Now THERE'S a surprise!

LOL

I would figured either that or a military school.

You know...like The Brown Shirt Academy.

Sig heil!

I figure you won't even know your kids or what school they go to. They will probably end up in some drug rehab or one of the mass shooters at a Church.
