Should kids learn about the civil rights movement in school?
I have never been and probally never will get to learn about the civil rights movement in school. I believe kids every where sould learn about it. It is a very important part of American History.

Of course. It's a movement that affected millions of Americans and still has motion in the current age. There are tons of movies and other media created relating to this information, and it should be shown, at least in part, to people who are learning about modern history. Should it be over-emphasized? No. Side: yes

It was a publicity stunt more than anything. Essentially everything it did was redundant because of equal protection of the law as described by the 14th amendment. As far as things like segregation go, it could have been changed by a simple supreme court ruling (not that the supreme court should have that power). The Civil Rights Act really shouldn't have been passed in the first place, but that's another debate. Side: No
