Would you tell on a friend who cheated?

Cheating is wrong. Who wants to play on an uneven playing field? Friend or foe, I'd report them. At the very least--if it was only in the most minor way 'cheating'--I'd have a long talk with them about how they'd feel if they were disadvantaged because someone else cheated.

I think that it is important to note that co-operation is always more successful than segregation and that it is only in unity that people can benefit. Thus while it is morally corrupting and detrimental to both your, and other's outcomes, I think to really benefit, you've got to stick together.

The negative asserts:

- co-operation is always more successful

- only in unity can people benefit

- hence "stick[ing] together" is what one should do, for favourable outcomes.

Co-operation is successful on what terms, and for whom? Is group success more important than benefit for other people? I think not! The "moral corruption and detriment to both your[the individual] and other's outcomes" should NOT happen, in maintaining unity of the group.

No, it is not "only in unity that people can benefit". The idea of a group benefiting the members warrants actions that will benefit the collective. The negative has presented the outcomes of moral corruption and detrimental outcomes to other members of the group. How, then, will this "really benefit"? The negative is thus contradictory.

As a person, one should always act in accordance with one's set of values, and not deviate from it. Constant improvement to these values helps makes them "good" in terms of benefiting the person and maintaining a sustainable social environment with lessened suffering.

On the contrary, while it is detrimental to those outside the group, but the group themselves reap a net benefit. Take for example, a large defense force. It is detrimental to the many, separatist units outside the co operation of the larger unit, however as a unit, succeeds and is superior to the individual. The individual, through the unit's success, then prospers.

It appears to me that you favour the individual over the collective, however for individuality to prosper, there is a need to adhere to a collective set of values.
