Should parents be allowed to be friends to their children?
Some parents want to be friends to their children to understand them better, other parents believe that they need to be strict and there is no room for a freindship kind of bond with children. Is there a point where it can go too far? Is there a point in between yes and no? what do you think?

I honestly and torn in between. i believe that when it comes down to it parents are parents and friends are friends and thats how it should stay. but i believe that children should have an open relationship with parents and be able to talk to them about things they would with friends. Allowed? Yes, because the attempt to prevent such a parenting style would be both unfeasible and totalitarian. Advised? Perhaps not, because a child has other individuals to fill the roles of friends: their friends. The role of a parent can still involve a strong bond with the child, but it should have the added dimension of authority, at least until the child is an adult. Side: yes
