I don't think they should because then they will only obey you if they get something or when you ask then to do something they'll expect something off the parents.

You can bribe the child and praise at the same time. Then take away the bribing and only praise the child. Then praising becomes the bribe and they will do stuff for the praise and not the bribe. Although, I only know this works with dogs and do not know if it works for children.

Side: Yes

No. Bribing your child just means there is a lack of respect in that household. If a parent has to bribe their child to do something, then their child obviously thinks of themselves as an equal to the parent, and refuses to do anything they are asked of, unless bribed. What kind of parent-child relationship is that? With good parenting, you won't need to bribe your kids.

Side: No

It could imprint them with the idea that everything they do has to have a reward for it. Destroying doing things just for some self pride, or for a feeling of contentment with a job well done.

The idea of bribing your child to get them to do what is requested of them, although is a good idea, will one day come back and bite you on the ass. Morally it's wrong to bribe anyone but when it comes to kids and there parents it falls into the deep hole of are you ready to fix it if you bugger it up. Basically no! in the short term it's wrong and in the long term you will just corrupt your child.
