Should schools stop teaching certain religions or should they include all of them?
Schools teach Cathoisism, Judaism, and Buddism to 6th graders. They teach the beliefs, the holidays, and what they do. Should they include other religions or just stop it all together?

If we are moving towards a globalized world then there will be a natural cross breeding of cultures, merger of boarders/governments,a increased interest in the happenings going on far away etc. that would make expensive and a incomplete religious education unnecessary. If there is enough of a interest amongst the students for a comparative religion elective then sure, have it; However the likely hood of that is low and the money towards such a class could be better put to use. Further more, knowledge about a particular religion is not necessary for and does not necessarily lead towards a greater tolerance of it. Side: Secular means without state religion

because of non believers religion was cast out of our public schools. It's a shame really,as Easter break is now spring break as Christmas is winter, with none of the fun associated..Growing up in the 70s we celabrated Christmas, with singing religious words, Hark the harold angels sing, We three kings and so on. soon we wont be able to sing these traditional songs in public. This I guess isn't an argument, just a thought. HAPPY HOLIDAYS from a believer..... Side: for educational purposes
