Yes. The fact is, American English is not the center of the universe, despite what many of us think and believe. Learning a foreign lanuage has many benefits, and the only negative aspect of it is the time needed to learn the language. Many of the guys up here are basically saying the same thing: No, because we're in America and why should we have to learn a language that wasn't origninally here and doesn't "fit in". But learning a different language can increase the neuron connections within the brain, thus making the student more intelligent. They would be more valuable in the workplace, they could communicate with other people of different nationalities, Side: Yes
Yes, very much so! Not only does learning a new language open up the door to a whole new culture for students, it also makes students more valuable later on in life in the business world. Especially on America, where the Hispanic minority is growing rapidly, learning Spanish, for example, would be very helpful. We cannot simply expect everyone in the world to learn English. Side: Yes
