I can see both sides to it really. On one hand you do have uniformity, with kids who don't have to worry about what they are wearing to school (latest designers, etc...) on the other hand students don't get to really choose what to wear as expression. They are still limited by school dress codes but it's less strict than a uniform. Yes some uniform codes are a tad archaic, requiring girls to wear skirts even if they prefer pants. I suppose if it's done right it's not bad, but I think the choice should be voted on by the students. Side: For

It's a great step in making students more "uniform". That's what they want in religious schools, in corporate schools, wherever they want students to BE alike, to THINK alike, to dress alike, to follow an agenda because, well …… they ARE all alike. The military uses the same logic, but, that's a necessary thing. It works in sports, also. I'm in favor of "being different". I think it leads to independent thought, different solutions. ;-) Hong Kong??? I'd rather WE weren't like THEM. They REALLY want their people to be and think, as one. As they were taught.
