Teachers could spend hours on thephone and the whole class would waste the lesson listening to their teacher on the phone.

I don't think so because my parents send me to school to learn, not listen to a teacher lolly gag on the phone. teachers can have phones but they need to only use it for important things or emergencies. what do you guys think? /: |

they should NOT be allowed to use their cell phones because students arent allowed to use theirs, the kids are there by choice and they dont get paid, but the teachers do get paid, therefore i think teachers shouldnt be allowed but students should.

If students can't, teachers shouldn't either. They should be allowed in the same way as the pupils: when they expect an emergency call. Teachers should never answer their mobile in class unless it is an emergency. Otherwise they'd only set the wrong example.

NO. Why should they get that priviledge. Besides, they are there to work, not phone people up. THey can be contacted via the reception desk in an emergancy. They choose to be there, we DO NOT and we aren't allowed them.

The reason why students still bring their phones to school is because their Teachers still have them. We all know how teens are, hell im one of them... And i know that when a teacher answers a text or a phone call that could be important, but it tempts the students to bring their cell phones. If a student bringing a cell phone interrupts a learning environment, then a teacher bringing a cell phone will disrupt at least 3x more then a student would. Everyone looks to their teachers for help, Wether they like it or not. Everyone receives help and follow their teacher. If a teacher brings a cell phone, why wouldn't a student follow them and bring theirs? Teachers should not, it has the same effect on teachers as it does students.

Eveif the teacher's get important "family emergencies" they still should not get phones because the students can have emergencies too...

First, all camps should not make general conclusions that; All teachers would be ineffective with cellphones and that cellphones would not affect their teaching habits.

Every person, in this case teachers, is totally different to that of the others, however this is my contention or perhaps also a question; what of the two should be disciplined a lazy teacher or an effective teacher, of course the first one, now let us attach it to this topic" should the teachers be allowed to use cellphone" because there are two kinds of teachers, the first one will become even more worse while using it and the other being unaffected even while using it but a law cannot be approved stating that all lazy teachers are pervaded to use cellphones only those who are effective are allowed" this is illogical because if one teacher is not allowed all should follow in such a way that equality can be seen. One cannot interview all teachers and delineate their personality whether they are good or bad so that they may be allowed to bring such gadgets, then referring to the first contention if all are allowed then bad teachers would be even more worse fir their focus would be different and if only good teachers are allowed, then inequality issues will arise, So to make an egalitarian society let none of them bring it.

However this should not be strictly so one cant use his or her gadgets while teaching but for emergency purpose it can be.

It depends, if children/teens are allowed to use their phones without punishment, teachers should be able too. Also teachers should be allowed to have their phones on for emergencies, but arent allowed to ever take it out within the childrens view.

I strongly believe that teachers should not have cell phones in class. Teachers are paid to teach children not call or text on a phone. Then teachers give children many consequences for texting then the teachers go and text. Is that really fair. Yes i know they are the teacher and if theres an emergency but the kids need it in an emergency too.... Just sayin

They should not be allowed to use cell phones in the class room because the teacher might be hanging on the phone and texting her friends while students are confused and cannot solve their problems. Teachers are just like students only the difference they teach and students learn other than that there is no difference between both. Teacher should be allowed to use their phones on emergency situation such as calling 911, etc. If teachers used cellphones students get curious and they use cell phones, and can't pay attention in class. If teacher uses cell phone in class that might be distraction to students so i believe they shouldn't be allowed to use cellphone except on emergency calls.

Teachers always take their sweet ass time and talk on the phone, so why can't the students. Iam a mother of 2 and they can't use there phone so why did i get them one?? Stupid ass teachers these days

why ? because I'm pretty sure my parents sent me to school to learn not to hear what a teacher says about his/her day. If the teacher uses their phones during class they will be distracted. i know for a fact that each teacher has an hour break for prep . why not use their phones then? If they don't have lesson plans they could use their hour to use their phones , because students came to school to learn !

I know that teachers are adults and they should not be compared, and treated like children but at the same time it wouldn't be fair if a teacher takes away a students phone and they have their phone.
