Allowed? By Whom? The government should not have any say in this matter. And as far as I can tell most parents abhor teenage pregnancy. How truly Utopian it would be if someone could just 'disallow' teenage pregnancy and it wouldn't happen, unfortunately that is not the case. Side: By whom
even if it were possible to entirely stop teenagers from getting pregnant (which it isnt) or that teenagers generally intended to get pregnant (which we don't) It does not seem that anybody has a right to declare a certain group of people incapable of having children. You may claim that teenagers are not responsible to raise a child. But that is a generalization. Maybe it is not in their best interest to have a child. In fact, I would whole-heartedly agree that teenagers should avoid getting pregnant, just as I wholeheartedly agree that one should avoid partying the day before one's final exam. That does not, however, mean i will disallow it. It is not my own place, nor is it the place of anybody else, to make such a decision over another's body. Side: Yes, they should be allowed

i don't understand how this would ever even be controlled. how would anyone stop allowing teens to have sex and thus become pregnant? My Mom was a teen when she became pregnant with me, and with out a doubt it was a difficult life but she is the most wonderful Mom. i really don't think it all depends on age, because all people are different and its the person who deals and becomes responsible with the pregnancy in a rightful manner that should are going to be the good parents. all in all i don't think the question should be, "Should teenagers be allowed to get pregnant?" but instead, Should irresponsible people be allowed to get pregnant? Side: Yes, they should be allowed

Yes, teenagers should be able to get pregnant! Girls used to get married and have kids as young as 12. what should stop a girl from getting pregnant if she wants to have a baby now? nothing. no one can make someone's decision for them. That's just wrong. should you be able to tell someone who is older and irresponsible that they can't have a baby? no, you can't do that either. So i don't see a problem with a teen having a baby :) Side: Yes, they should be allowed

Teenagers are not mature enough to take care of themsleve and adding a child to that can result in them not being a parent and eventually leading their own parents to take care of their grandchild. Because teens don't want to step up and grown up for not having safe sex they start to depend on their parents to fix their own problems. Resulting in possable getting pregnant again and parents having to be parents all over again. Side: No, definately not.

no they should not, are you familiar with the phrase babies raising babies? well this is how i feel about the situation, teenagers havent even began to experience the joys of life and having a child would take away from the joys and thrills teenagers live for. wait until you are finished with school and you are sure your ready for all the responsibilities of parenthood. Side: No, definately not.
today's world is running very fast but that doesn't mean allowing teenagers to get pregnant. Its the age for understanding various things of life, work hard to make a bright future rather than indulging oneself in experimenting such things. And it hardly matters how much we develop..this world, especially in our country, girls getting pregnant before marriage are never accepted...health issues are also related to this.. Side: No, definately not.

I don't really think anyone is stopping these teenagers from getting pregnant, but if I remember correctly, I was watching Dr.Phil one day and the topic of the day was teen pregnancy. A 16 year old girl was a guest on the show and argued that teens are mentally capable of bearing children in a 21st century Western society. When they asked her how much money she thought it would take in the first year alone to keep the baby alive, she said she knew it was over 1000$. So yea, go ahead teens, go ahead and get pregnant. Because we all know you have fully developped brains and have experienced enough in your lives to raise another life with all of that awesome knowledge just spilling out of your mouths. Oh and your career lives are fabulous at that point as well, may I add. I'm sure you make at least 45,000$ a year and own a home and have good credit and pay your bills on time and vote like a good member of society should. Just to be clear, I am being sarcastic. Teens need a swift kick to the face if they think they have a "right" to bear children at a young age. Side: what a insane thought is that
