Should the USA celebrate the 4 of July?

Fourth of July, the celebration of the death British soldiers.

Thanksgiving, the celebration of the death of Indian lives.

Why not celebrate the Holocaust?  The death of Jewish lives.

How about the death of those on Death row, present and past?

The 4th of July: the birth of America's FREEDOM = worthy of being celebrated.

Freedom is one of the two biggest things a person can have. peace, is the other one.

The fourth is the celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. But all the rest that you listed are true. As far as the death of British soldiers, there were many casualties on both sides. But the fight for freedom was worth it to get out from under England's rule and taxes.

Actually, part of my explanation wasn't fully correct:

Independence Was Not Declared on July Fourth: The second Continental Congress actually voted for independence on July 2. In fact, John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, predicting that future generations would celebrate July 2 as Independence Day, saying, "The second day of July, 1776, will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illumination, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore." July 4, 1776 is significant because that is the day that Congress officially adopted the Declaration of Independence document, but contrary to what many people believe it was not signed on the July 4. The official signing ceremony occurred on August 2, which is when most of the signers affixed their names to the document, but other representatives signed the document throughout the summer of 1776. Finally, there is no historical record of John Hancock saying that his signature is that big so that King George could read it. It has been suggested that Hancock's is by far the largest signature simply because he was the president of Congress.

The Fourth of July is the celebration of freedom. Period.------

Even if you did not agree with the celebrations held on this day it would be wrong to stop people from celebrating and having fun.

Telling somebody to stop a tradition their family has carried out for decades is just the same as saying to the English government "Hey, nobody is allowed to celebrate Christmas this year." Attempting to enforce the rule would prove pointless, so arguing about whether or not they SHOULD or not is irrelevant.

Side: They can if they want to

Yes. It's a day for picnics and fireworks and sales at the malls.
