Yes, especially this one that makes no cents at all to keep! :)

Side: Yes

it probably costs more to make a penny than a penny is actually worth. But then again, on the other hand if the penny disappeared we would have to change all our prices, which wouldnt be bad, no more 99 cent bullshit, 1 dollar, or 95 cents, yes, lets get rid of the penny.

Canada did and it saved them alot of money

The US should stop producing pennies.

I see no reason to stop accepting ones currently in existence.

If they cost more to make than they are worth, and if their value is so low that they are almost completely worthless, then why continue producing them? Better to just stop making them but allow their use.

Side: Yes

Even though government is the biggest control over the economy, the penny is a major contributor for charities.

Side: No

Not to forget that the small amounts of money is important to the divisibility of the money.

Side: No

Modern currency is not founded upon the principle of intrinsic value, as archaic gold and silver currencies were. To suggest that the practice ought to be revived is primitive in the extreme.

Side: No

Pennies are needed for change. I would hate to have a nickel increment because those pennies saved can add up in one of those CoinStar machines.
