No this is what's called a utopic idea meaning it sounds nice but its not economically viable. If everyone is at home looking after junior then who is out working? Who's keeping the economy going. And if everyone is being payed by the government and paying income tax then our GDP isn't growing because no new money (from privet sector employes) is coming in. Imagine this if every month you gave me a dollar and I gave you 25 cents from that dollar. You would need external revenue to keep that up so you go to your little brother who works for you neighbor and he gets 3 dollars a mouth so you tax him one dollar so you ca give that dollar to me so I can support my kids. On this scenario your little brother is the privet sector employe and thus gets payed by some other than the government thus when he pays taxes its new money coming in so you can give some of it to me That's how well fair works and what your suggesting is basically well fair. What we need to focus on in this bad economy is creation of wealth government doesn't create wealth.

It shouldn't be a job to continue the human race - that should be a duty :)

Although the worlds population is rising with extreme speed .. so if we could slow down the reproduction for a little bit, that would be great.
