Should the idea of god exist.

Leave aside whether god really existsor not, but do you think such a concept should exist or not.

yes, it must.

Many people need to believe that God exists, so on the evolutionary scale the fact that we created the concept has not changed. As a species we have not advanced much in that area and the need for a belief in a supreme being and the construction of religion/s around the world continue to give people of different creed, culture and language the faith in the unanswerable questions, that life has meaning and there is a purpose to our existence.

So my answer is that the idea of God exists and will continue to do so until we have sufficiently evolved to become beings who have faith in ourselves.

Side: yes, it must.

Many people need to believe that Evolution is true because they absolutely hate the notion of moral responsibility and consequences for ones behavior. They want to be able to kill unborn Babies with no guilty conscience from a God who will judge them someday. They want to have one night stands, walk away from their Babies they created, with no accountability for their actions.

This is why they hate God and why they are trying to separate any mention of God in our Public lives. They want no feelings of guilt and want a no fault culture.

They have no clue how life sprang up from no life yet they still preach their evolutionary religion as if it were fact. Our culture is showing us all what will happen as God is separated from society. We will justify killing our most innocent children through a privacy clause in the Constitution. That is the compassion of mankind without God.

"Many people need to believe that Evolution is true because they absolutely hate the notion of moral responsibility and consequences for ones behavior. "

Nope, they just care about scientific validity.

"They want to be able to kill unborn Babies with no guilty conscience from a God who will judge them someday. They want to have one night stands, walk away from their Babies they created, with no accountability for their actions."

Nope, they just have different opinions than you, and you can't handle that so you need to demonize them.

"This is why they hate God and why they are trying to separate any mention of God in our Public lives. They want no feelings of guilt and want a no fault culture."

They don't, so why lie?

You are right: we are more educated, we have less crime, we have less poverty, we have less discrimination and racism, etc. Gee, guess we should continue separating god from society!

People need to believe in God to avoid moral responsibility and consequences. It isn't even difficult. Ignore your moral obligations then pray to God for forgiveness. You don't even have to do something morally good to counter what you did that was wrong.

"If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward then, brother, that person is a piece of shit. And I’d like to get as many of them out in the open as possible. You gotta get together and tell yourself stories that violate every law of the universe just to get through the goddamn day? What’s that say about your reality?" (Rust Cohle)

Side: yes, it must.

People do not believe in God out of fear from being judged. They do so because God spoke to their hearts and they opened their lives to him. They see how their lives have been transformed from one of depression and the emptiness of the world to one of fulfillment. It opens their minds to the utter harm that irresponsibility and sin causes in our lives and helps us be better people. It has nothing to do with fear of being judged for sins.

But you only show your ignorance to the Christian faith. It's not rocket science but go ahead and keep judging Christians. The hypocrisy is mind blowing.

Atheist do this without needing a god. Why would you look down on them?

Oh look, it is the kettle calling the pot black. Don't try to pretend you aren't judging Atheists.

I have never judge Atheists or Gays or anyone else. That's God's job. I have Gay friends and Atheist friends. I'm happy treating people with respect and not worrying about what they believe. I would hope every person makes it to Heaven.

What you keep confusing is that Conservatives and Christians fight the Liberal movement that wants to transform our Faith to sanction their lifestyles.

You seem to be talking about people who come to Christianity on their own. Christian children tend to act and think in constant fear of the judgment of Gods all seeing eye. That is except for the kids who do whatever they want and then apologize to Jesus later.

Most definitely,It is"THIS" supreme power that gives us the strength,overlooks us ,makes us repentant;

unless this idea is ingrained in us we wont be able to realize our true potential;besides this power can be deemed as the "hidden force" in our souls;God is nothing but this power.

Yes He should. Now yes, I'm a religious (sorta) kind of person. But I say yes purely because everyone should believe in something bigger than themselves. As silly as it sounds, sometimes and imaginary friend is "someone" you need. Now, I'm not saying God is just an imaginary friend for you extremely religious... But what I am saying is there has to be "someone" you can talk to when you're alone to kinda ease your nerves of everyone else. Because no one is perfect so you can't ALWAYS find a physical human being to turn to. So yes, gods should exist.

Without the idea of God there would be no existential reason for our being, no cause for morality, no hope for an afterlife. Believing that everything is just a coincidence has never been human nature. Thousands of years with thousands of cultures worshiping one deity or another and the world has not self destructed... Yet! Take God out of America and see what happens...or is happening!

"Without the idea of God there would be no existential reason for our being,"

Why does there have to be one?

"no cause for morality"

Not true, morality could quite simply be an evolutionary adaption to help facilitate socializing within a group.

"no hope for an afterlife"

Now that is true, without a god (or gods) there is almost certainly no afterlife.

"Believing that everything is just a coincidence has never been human nature"

True, we have always wanted to impose order upon chaos. We always want more meaning o the madness.

"Thousands of years with thousands of cultures worshiping one deity or another and the world has not self destructed"

That is true, but there is now a difference. In Christianity, we see the concept of the rapture, or the end times. Believers consider this to be a positive thing, a time when all the "true believers" shall be brought into heaven, and evil smote down. This coincides with the end of the physical world. With this being the case, there is less of a legitimate interest in preventing the end of the world, regardless of the cause. With technology progressed to the point it has, that starts having far scarier implications than it used to.

"Take God out of America and see what happens...or is happening!"

What do you think is happening? Less poverty, higher education, SUBSTANTIALLY less crime and violence, less racism and discrimination, etc.

If anything, "taking God out of America" (if that is truly happening) seems to be a positive thing for this country.

I do believe it should exist. While people use their gods and religions to promote themselves, their ideas, or other uses for personal gain, people use many things in that fashion. Politicians using kids or military as well for just a single example. There's even people who fight against something that doesn't pertain to them when the pertained group may or may not mind. People will always use whatever they can to get what they want. A "God" taken away wouldn't solve that problem. In saying that, it also doesn't support the idea.

I do believe the main benefit of a "god" for people is that the idea really does bring them comfort in their lives. There are many people who would not have gotten through certain points in their life. Even if you do not believe in it, there are those that do, and those that do truly believe and is "fact" to them. And like anything else, there are those that take it too far. But once again, going too far goes with anything.

Humans by nature will take anything they can and use it in their own way. While good or bad, it happens. And whilst, it follows patterns of most things it's good for some which puts it in the keep category.

No it shouldn't because of things like these, people getting in silly fights like these, if god didn't exist then there wouldn't be any silly fights about him and the world would be a way better place because I actually lost a few friends because I stopped believing in god.

People would find other reasons, I suspect. For fights and wars and not liking people anymore.

I don't think it has any particular need to exist, but I guess it depends on your view of what God is. If it's simply a being that created everything, that doesn't help. Where did that being come from? This is not to say we shouldn't question where we came from as that is a human thing to do, but answering it with an uneducated 'guess' of a magical being is illogical. It is perfectly possible to accept that you don't know, and come up with a hypothesis, but there is absolutely no reason why that hypothesis 'should' be god.

Historically, religion and God has been used to explain things that the human race had no explanation for, such as the stars, weather, love, and so on. We still lack understanding, but with the immense amount of knowledge science has gathered, the need for a supernatural explanation is fading. We certainly don't know everything, but that doesn't mean we can't learn more, and that certainly doesn't mean we must go to our imaginations or the supernatural to come up with a response.

I don't think the idea of God necessarily 'shouldn't' exist, as it is natural to imagine, but I don't see any reason why it has to. By saying that we must accept God on unstable evidence and human conjecture/imagination would remove opportunities to learn more.
