Should the youth be treated as adults?

Depends on the crime. For murder, yes, for rape, yes, for fights (unless repeated) no ... etc ... Also the age counts. Below the age of 7 or 8 I cannot consider the child an adult or youth. They are still babies to me.

No, because they are not. That does not mean they should not be held accountable for their actions, just that it should be recognized that they are still learning to make good choices.

Side: No

In general, no. But under rare circumstances they can be tried as adults. It probably takes a lot for that to happen.

Side: No

I think children, teens, adults, should all be treated differently within society, from children, to teens, to adults, the younger are typically not capable of being as responsible and mature, thus the reason we have age limits on things. I think the younger the more restricted you are in society then at the same time you shouldn't be judged so harshly for thus crimes but are still accountable. I think it would also to have crimes that are judged the same regardless of age, like murder, rape, etc.

Side: No

Minors are a protected class and should not be treated as adults.
