Should there be a class on the real world
Should there be a class that soley teaches students on how to pay taxes, bills, and everything having to do with growing up and being on your own?
Certainly. There may be some schools out there who already instill this into their curriculum but I think something as paramount as basic life skills should be as requisite as Maths and English, particularly as some young people for varying reasons are not privy to this sort of information at home. 1

That would be a great idea! The only problem would be finding time to fit that in the school schedules. After all, there is Family And Consumer Sciences, which is, technically, the class on the real world. So, unfortunately, I don't think there could be a class on the real world if there already is. I do believe, however, that FACS classes should focus on things that students struggle with rather than what the curriculum says (pardon me if I didn't spell 'curriculum' correctly). |
