The message is DIFFERENT when these displays are in a museum instead of the public square...
One is a big FUCK YOU to the black people, and the other is a celebration of HISTORY.. Right wingers UNDERSTAND that distinction and they're happy to tell black folk to FUCK OFF..
While there is a legit argument for putting these statues in museums, that's not what the mob is attempting. They are not interested is the slow, legislative process required to peacefully move statues to museums.
No it is not a "peaceful protest" when people are burning Abraham Lincoln statues. Or when they are burning flags that is when you don't have the right to state it is peaceful. And why do you always have to assume something is racist just because it was during the civalwar. Honestly we have no right as people in the 20 century to "alienate", "destroy" history. We weren't there back then we have no idea what they did for this country and NO ONE has the right to take it down EVER!
Those statues are of Democrats. Yes or no Excon? They sure weren't from the party of Lincoln last I checked. They are now burning the Abraham Lincoln statue, so give us your excuse for why you support that.
I have no problem with Democrats taking down what they deem to be the statues of "racist Democrats", as long as they start taking down the statues of Native Americans and Blacks who owned slaves or fought for the South. This is their standard. It's time they call a spade a spade and have to pay the piper for their madness. Start ripping down their statues and names that are associated to the same events.

The Democrt Party supported slavery a few hundred years ago but the Repubican Party helped end it.
Today the Democrat Party supports even no restriction abortions of viable unborn babies for any reason, and someday the Republican Party will help end this inhumanity as well.

America is the home of the free. We have the freedom of speech to say things that might offend another. We have freedom of religious epression that might offend a person of another belief.

The people in those communites agreed to put them up. People can decide to take them down as well!

Those statues got put up by people in the communities when racism was "in vogue".

It would be nice if you now agreed that the big federal Government has no right to tell every community they can not display a nativity scene on the land they pay taxes to.
Why should we take them down in the first place, first of all it is not a matter of who can take them down but a matter of why we should. Second, why shouldn't the Federal Government not be in ownership of the statues they are national history and the Government helps restore and maintain the well being of the statues. Ok so your argument is why if the people put up the statues why shouldn't they take them down, because most humans including myself think in a moment and act on the moment worth of thinking. Why should we be able to take down a statue that we think is offending us. What if we say that the American flag is offending us why don't we take it down since it was during slavery, because it does not only mean one thing and neither did the confederate flag. It is not just one justification but many so who are you to say we should take it down because it offended you. Alot of things offend people but we don't just take it down, or burn it or destroy it. We deal with it or we make a negotiation or we vote on it as Americans. We as people need to know that these statues and flags don't just mean slavery but a bigger more important meaning so I suggest you get that history book out and do some reading.

I said the people in those communities have the right to decide for themselves. Those statues belonged to them. They paid taxes for upkeep, etc.
So who in this naton has the all knowing power to decide when a statue becomes historical and therefore forcibly protected by the Federal Government?
If we put up statues of Obama or Trump, do they instantly become protected? What happens if a Liberal community puts up a statue of a man holding the severed head of Trump? Who has the power to make these decisions?
