Should we necessarily respect our elders even if they are not good in character?

Respect those who respect you -regardless of age. To bluff respect is more disrespectful than most could imagine. But to bluf respect is to prolong an issue and is ripping yourself AND the offending person off. I would not force my child against their wishes to cuddle or kiss hello an elderly relative because the elders think they should. To insist one give respect when they dont feel like it also teaches them to put up with shit. I find it insulting whenever i hear an elderly person go on about the uncouth youth of today. Has the dementia set in already ? Whenever a generation of teens reaches old age , they all forget what teens were like when they were teens. Just imagine our elderly born in our times. They would have probably outdone the teens of today , if you use something like "WOODSTOCK" as leverage for an example. Side: No
