... treat them like humans means to treat them like shit... after all, i can't park upfront because i'm being treated normally... but the handicapped dude gets to park up front... because he can't walk. idk, this topic was phrased weird, so i'm just gonna say "they shouldn't be treated like they're normal". Yes, they are humans. It would be ridiculous not to. There are too many cruel people out there that make fun of people for their disabilities or treat them like they aren't as good as other people. Please spell check this next time though, as the no people are posting ridiculous arguments based on your spelling mistakes. Side: yes

I'm not sure any sane person would dare try to say no. Or if they did, they'd only be playing devil's advocate. If you're talking about mentally handicapped, my boyfriend's brother has Down's syndrome and there's nothing "non-human" about him. He's not exactly the same as "normal" people, but then again, I'd like to see a "normal" person. David has his strengths and weaknesses, just like anyone else. That is what makes him human, just like the rest of us. Side: yes

People with capes are only handy when it's raining, Locke. Gee it would be nice if you learned how to spell! Your title should have read "Should we treat handicapped people as though they are humans?" Absolutely! Why should we treat them any other way? They already are humans and every human being deserves to be treated that way. If you were handicapped, wouldn't you wish to be treated as a human being? One other thing, we should have learned about equality long before this country was almost torn apart because of slavery! Side: Absolutely
Of course we should treat handy caped people like humans, although this is mostly based on your personal opinion. Discriminating handy caped people could lead to discrimination of blind people, religious people, opininated people, etc. A mentaly hand caped person should also be treated as a human, because if you think about if you were handicapped wouldn't u wanted to be treated with love or respect. No one deserves to be treated like an animal, and this goes back to many classic books in which authors/philosophers emphasize supporting our fellow man. Side: yes

i agree that handicapped people should be treated with love and respect. everyone has been saying equality. i think it is the wrong word. your not going to treat a 4 year old the same as a 44 year old. and this of course is what some handicapped people are. i think the golden rule should be played in this one. treat on to others as you wish to be treated. i think you should take in the persons situation as to how they are treated. you cant make a guy who is quadrapligic make you a burger at jack in the box. but you can love him for who he is and what views of life he has. just because the quality of life is differ than your own does not mean he does not have one. but he was born human treat him as one. they are not burdens on the human heart. they are for alot of people the whole heart. what the fuck kind of question is this. if you wear handy caped would you want to be treated like shit or like a human. if you say like shit then you have to many fucking problems in your head for me to even care about. if you think they should be treated like shit then maybe someone should go and break your fucking legs so you can treat your self like shit. thanks for reading :P Side: yes
Yes they are people and even if they are a little different we should respect them like the human they are. This is America and we should have learned through slavery that all Men and Woman are treated equal. If we haven't learned that lesion the i don't have much hope of America. Side: yes
